As I understand the reason for this Jennings fight is basically to stay busy and to go through this HBO deal so that there is a possibility of a unification with Wilder if he wins. This is because of course of the fact that Al Haymon would never let his fighter fight on HBO. So once he fights Jennings and (Fury or Chisora) and his 3 fight deal is finished, he would be open for a fight with Wilder on Showtime for example. If Stiverne wins, he can always just extend the deal with HBO.

Bryant can carry enough weight on his body to make a potential knockout possible but for now I'm betting against it.
Jennings speed, technique, timing and overall aggressiveness isn't up to overcoming Wladimir.
That said it can add to the highlight reel of recent Klitschko knockout wins should Wladimir decide to open up.

Klitschko-Jennings in the works for spring

Jennings has the skills but he is too small and has no punching power for Wlad to respect but at least if Klits make this fight he will be showing some upward mobility rather than the last few cans he's fought.

interesting how all the jennings fan-boys on twitter are quiet and now pessimistic. As the saying goes, be careful what you wish for.....

people need not worry, wilder, fury, browne, ...they will all fall ...one by one.. (dpg)

Jennings is in WAY over his head in this matchup. He has athleticism and heart but he needs way more experience in boxing. He's also not a puncher. I give him about as close to zero chance as one can give.

Jennings is a good fighter, uses his brain, kept calm, and a good fight plan.

I'm guessing this is jennings cashing out. He knows he can't beat wilder or klit, but the payday for klit will be bigger so he is going for that.

This should make things a bit more intresting...

Wladimir hasn't fought in the U.S for years, it's good he comes over.
Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua should be ringside.

In fact it would be a snub if the elite didn't show up.
Klitschko coming to New York is a big deal.

Remember the Klitschko respect paid to the African American boxing community over the years.

There's a lot of jealousy though.

He'll never get the respect he deserves in the US, partly because influential commentators like Teddy Atlas and Max Kellerman always disparage and denigrate him.

Jennings is a good fighter, but as some are saying, is no threat due to lack of size and power. It should be one of Wlad's easier fights. Respect to Bryant, he could've just rejected the fight and protected his "0" like many do, but instead is aiming for the champ.

Decent fight given who is available.

Jennings is about as proven as Stiverne is and I think that he would defeat Bermane.

Yeah he would. Stiverne's lack of footwork would make him an easy fight for Jennings.

Jennings is a contender level fighter who after the loss will end up like chambers, pianeta, wachs etc

is he a top 10 HW right now? yes
but yes his power will not let him be WC
if arreola fought Jennings people will be jerkin off how good a fight it is
is it a decent scalp for WLad? right now yes, top 10 undefeated HW, decent record and then the big fights after this.

Jennings, Fury, Glazkov/Cunningham, then WBC champion (wilder or povetkin)

I agree. Jennings is much quicker on his feet the plodding Stiverne.

I wouldn't bet on Jennings, but I wouldn't be shocked if the Philadelphian pulls off the major upset.

Fixed.

Realistically, Jennings needs more work before Wlad, especially considering he he hasn't fought anyone with length who knows how to use it. Even a fight against ancient TT or the fragile Price would help. I'm happy that he's going to get a nice payday, but his management should be looking more to the long term, and Jennings is one of the few guys in the division worth being patient with.
