Rio - was just teasing you. Was pretty sure you meant that. Wasn't trying to be offensive.

If you don't stand at mid range in front of Broner, he has problems because his stance is too wide and he's too short to fight at range, plus his punches would lose some of their power when travelling that far and in close he struggles to get leverage into punches because he loads up so much. Fighters like Crawford and Vazquez are horrible for him, as is anyone who has the foot speed and head movement to get in and out without walking onto something.

no he didn't get offered telephone number, no life changing money at all

Just his biggest purse to date......hard to make a better offer than that really.Add to the fact it was a unification on showtime if burns won it would have made him a huge star over the pond. He turned it down and got battered by beltran for alot less.

Malignaggi was at 147.....didn't see de leon fight. I always rated rees but broner just played with him, no one has ever done that to rees. Think a 135 broner beats crawford anyday

What fighter would go away from home, for a unification fight, on 7 weeks notice? The offer was turned down and Vazquez was lined up instead, that fell through, leading to all the legal issues and problems in the last 18 months-2 years.

A fight just got cancelled so burns was already in training camp, it was just his opponent changed.

The fight got cancelled 4 days before it was scheduled, then they were offered a new fight 7 weeks later. He'd have needed a week or two to recover from the last training camp, leaving him 5-6 weeks to train for a unification fight away from home. The other option would have been to carry on training and take the fight, stay just above the weight for the whole camp and including the previous camp, train for nearly 5 months straight. It was either take the fight and badly overtrain/undertrain, or turn it down.
