Re: Results Page
Thanks for your post.
Typically certain world regions are maintained by specific boxrec.com editors. For example, my region/specialty is the Philippines.
Results can be delayed for a number of reasons, one of these could be that the (official commission report document) for a specific fightcard has yet to be received by the boxrec.com editor. The commission document will show official weights, time of stoppages, officials, etc. and commission supervisor for the fightcard. The Commission document is essential proof and evidence of everything that took place for the event. We upload this into boxrec for editorial viewing only. It allows for the fightcard to be indisputable and results as final.
Another reason could be that television/newspaper/internet media coverage for the event was lacking. A lot of times a fightcard is hyped prior to the event in order to sell tickets, etc. However, after the event there isn't a write up on the results that occurred. This would then require a commission document for evidence of the event.
The last reason is general. Perhaps the editor who babysits the region where the fightcard took place is too busy to update boxrec.com even when there is substantial media coverage. However, most of the time if the fightcard takes place in a country like Germany, U.K., or USA --another editor may step in & post the results as most big fightcards are televised in these countries. These big fightcards are then often updated again later once the commission report is provided to the main regional editor. The boxrec.com editors are more of a team, and we generally don't mind having our toes stepped on from time to time, especially when life gets in the way of our passion for boxing, and we are unable to get to a computer right away to input the results.
Hope this helps answer your question.
