troy james joe murray final eliminator
troy james joe murray final eliminator
Fight has been sent to purse bids. Cant see how murray has got the opportunity after one fight in 12 months and troy has won 2 eliminators. How do u guys see this fight.....
Re: troy james joe murray final eliminator
I think Murray at his best beats Troy at his best. The problem is that he isnt active enough which could be his downfall.
Re: troy james joe murray final eliminator

Re: troy james joe murray final eliminator
James- if he eventually gets the shot- will have had to do as much to earn it as any fighter I can remember. like you say Jamie tough on Team James, they seem to have had to jump a lot of hurdles before they get there......
Re: troy james joe murray final eliminator
Ronnie v troy was a final eliminator, joe murray inactive and beaten for commonwealth title, troy should not be fighting anyone but liam walsh, but hey his team will crack on and get the shot hopefully, can't imagine dean being best pleased As he wasn't when ronnie fight was made either ,
Re: troy james joe murray final eliminator
thats bollocks that is I quite like Joe Murray but Troy deserves to be mandatory.
Forgot hes not with one of the big promoters or from London or the Northwest though!

Re: troy james joe murray final eliminator
Just been told craig evans is fighting for it? Guy can't make the weight, he's a lightweight, absolute bollocks, troy has done it the right way and just gets overlooked, all these Prospects are gifted shots,

Troy v ronnie wasnt a final eliminator.
Re: troy james joe murray final eliminator
Aaa ok, I thought it was, ronnie got injured and kays then thought sykes for british so just say I took it, irrelevant as craig evans in no way should be fighting for that title, you need to mKe the weight first surely, he had to weigh in 3 times to mKe 9"6, and was knackered after 4 rounds, still waiting on
DVD being sent to us for fight, boxing is insane how it works, maxi draw at weekend also ha, who scores these fights, judges Are morons

Re: troy james joe murray final eliminator
It's a joke, especially if Evans has got the shot ahead of him.
These eliminators just seem to be a way of keeping fighters with smaller promoters occupied while the bigger ones get the actual shots and pick their challengers

Re: troy james joe murray final eliminator
It was just an eliminator between Ronnie and Troy James mate, a final eliminator is over 12 rounds iirc.JamieM wrote:Ronnie v troy was a final eliminator, joe murray inactive and beaten for commonwealth title, troy should not be fighting anyone but liam walsh, but hey his team will crack on and get the shot hopefully, can't imagine dean being best pleased As he wasn't when ronnie fight was made either ,
It isn't fair on Troy James imo to have to have this much eliminators when other boxers can get a shot without one!! But I suppose that is when a good manager or big promoter behind you really helps.
Good luck to Troy James in this final eliminator but it's very hard to call.

Re: troy james joe murray final eliminator
Will Murray even want to take it at this stage in his career given his inactivity? It's a step in at the deep end and could be a boom/bust fight?
Re: troy james joe murray final eliminator
Did eubank jnr fight any eliminators ha, unreal

He will take the fight he took walsh fight and performed well after 2 lack luster performances and long period out of the ring.

If he's got any ambition he will.freddydoesdallas wrote:Will Murray even want to take it at this stage in his career given his inactivity? It's a step in at the deep end and could be a boom/bust fight?
He might as well retire if he's afraid of Troy James.
Re: troy james joe murray final eliminator
That was a voluntary, he didn't really deserve it, but his name got it sanctioned. I've got no issue with Walsh having a voluntary against Craig Evans or Joe Murray getting an eliminator, he gave Walsh a really tough fight, but having to win 3 eliminators to become mandatory is almost unheard of, Ryan Walsh has been made mandatory without winning an eliminator, Chris Jenkins became mandatory for Limond based on nothing.JamieM wrote:Did eubank jnr fight any eliminators ha, unreal
Re: troy james joe murray final eliminator
It's ok for someone who has never made the weight, his last fight he had to weigh in 3 times to make 9"6, Im sure you have to make weight before you can do a Title fight, troy is being screwed, that's exactly what's happening, the big promotors are dictating to the board obviously,
Re: troy james joe murray final eliminator
You are talking rubbish.JamieM wrote:It's ok for someone who has never made the weight, his last fight he had to weigh in 3 times to make 9"6, Im sure you have to make weight before you can do a Title fight, troy is being screwed, that's exactly what's happening, the big promotors are dictating to the board obviously,
Re: troy james joe murray final eliminator
What's rubbish? Fact craig hAd 3 Attempts to make weight? Fact the board have an obligation for fighter aFety regarding weight? Fact troy has foight more eliminators than anyone in previous knowledge of anyone? What's rubbish?
Re: troy james joe murray final eliminator
For non title fights 9 stone 6 is classed as a super featherweight fight. The number of attempts it took him doesn't really matter, as long as he made it safely.JamieM wrote:It's ok for someone who has never made the weight, his last fight he had to weigh in 3 times to make 9"6, Im sure you have to make weight before you can do a Title fight, troy is being screwed, that's exactly what's happening, the big promotors are dictating to the board obviously,
It was never likely that Troy would get a shot at Walsh immediately, it's not surprising that he seems to be being allowed a voluntary, that's pretty standard, what's unusual is Troy having to go through 3 eliminators to get a shot, although he is yet to win a final eliminator, but that's normally the second eliminator.
I wouldn't really put it down to big promoters dictating, if Troy was with a big promoter he would probably be made mandatory, but I don't see how him fighting a third eliminator has anything to do with any of the big promoters.
Re: troy james joe murray final eliminator
His eliminators were not against top domestic contenders. His record is not that of a solid mandatory challenger.
He has not been hard done by.

Re: troy james joe murray final eliminator
He's not got a solid record? And evans has them? 9"6 is super feather as title not on line? No ha, you need to do the weight to make sure you can make it, the boy was drained and didn't make
It safely, troy should get shot, anyone with half a brain knows that, can't beat top opposition of he can't get opposition, nobody fights unless forced into it, big promotors call the shots and keep the belts in there shows, hence why it will be a FW fighter and not s Hearn, and why certain fighters choose to go different routes, best don't fight each other, it's all manipulated,

His beat 2 top 10 fighters back to back that were ordered by the board. He lost a close fight to flannigan no disgrace in that and a loss in pf. Wats murray done. Yes he took walsh close but lost wats his next best performance wins over ancliff davies Naylor. Also his fought once in 12 months against a journeyman and pulled out against evans twice and maxi tho think it was warren who put a stop to that fight.
Re: troy james joe murray final eliminator
For non title fights you only have to make 2lbs above the championship weight, Eubank Jr's only made the middleweight limit in his last two fights, but he was still classed as a middleweight before that, because he was fighting just above the weight. Walsh himself hadn't made 9st 4 until he won the Commonwealth title, Evans has done the weight in the past.JamieM wrote:He's not got a solid record? Troy should have been made mandatory, but Walsh is well within his rights to make a voluntary defence first, if they want that to be against Evans then fair enough. The belts are always going to be with big promoters because they have TV backing, it seems to be almost impossible for a small hall promoter to put a major title fight on, the money just isn't there. That doesn't explain why Troy is being forced to go through another eliminator.
And Walsh fought Sykes less than 2 weeks ago, 2 of the top 3 in the division domestically fought each other, so the best do fight each other.
