Classic white on black or black on white, or, at a push, solid black are best. I don't like any others.

Howard Winstone

Red shorts, union jack on one side and the Fleur de Lys on the other - a uniform for most world class Welsh boxers up until recently.

Didn't Lennox claim his giant shorts were the contributing factor to McCall's breakdown in the rematch?

Adrian Dodson was a good fighter but his shorts used to really wind me up for some reason, I could never relax and watch him box - I was always fuming.

Best shorts are Sal Sanchez in his fight with Gomez; light blue velvet with the 5 stars on (Salvador had defended his title 5 times). Honourable mention to Julio Cesar Chavez in his bout with Rosario - again, pretty plain but with the stars, Julio had 9 defences.

Gary Buckland looked the part on Prizefighter last week. A proper throwback to the 80's, plain white, pulled up high. No extravagant nonsense.

Clearly Paez, who wins hands down for me. Massive sequinned shorts that probably weighed more than he did, misuse of hair clippers, chasing ringcard girls between rounds, handstands on first floor balcony railings - what's not to like? And done because he wanted to, not because he was trying to develop an image in a calculating, knowing way.

Although I would like to give an honourable mention to Lloyd Honeyghan's pink sequinned shorts when he beat Don Curry. You have to be a pretty confident fighter to wear those.

Juan Manuel Lopez Loved his shorts. The best were the ones he wore against Gerry Penalosa. Followed closely by the ones he wore in the first Salido fight

Both great shouts.....Honeyghan's shimmering little number against Curry surely rates as a classic. Kind of epitomised exactly what Lloyd wanted to do and how he felt that night....I am going to take your belt and I am going to look fly doing it.

Benn did some great numbers as well.....often donned the all-black look and it really worked. You could also have some fun with the guess Nigel's haircut game......seem to remember a shocking ponytail at some point.

Liked seeing the Kronk fighters wearing their colours as well; great look.

I loved Buchanan's tartan shorts

Is there anything more depressing than seeing a shot HW wearing they 3qtr length shorts that just about scrape the tops of their boots(think Danny Williams)
