It's clear Floyd has no interest in fighting Manny, still low blowing the guy with all the financial bs. Floyd damn near wants to take home
75% if the purse this fight ain't happening. Forget it!

He'll instead fight Thurman hoping people forget about Pac for May 2. Watch TBA become Thurman.

Re: Mayweather says he wants Pacquiao on May 2
Thurman only makes him another $30 mil...(I know that's a lot)
Pac makes him at least $100mil.
Thurman may actually be more dangerous at this juncture as well.

Blah blah blah. Not happening. Ever.
Re: Mayweather says he wants Pacquiao on May 2
calling manny out and demanding the impossible. way to go floyd
Re: Mayweather says he wants Pacquiao on May 2
I'd love to see it happen, will it ... probably not.
Floyd makes excuses or comes up with any way possible to make Pacquiao look like the one ducking the fight and when he eventually agrees to the demand, its too late and something else has been arranged.

Floyd has got to be delusionial if he thinks Pac is getting LESS than that fake offer he gave of 40 million flat fee, no PPV.
Just stroking his own ego I guess. The pot for this fight is bigger than ever and Pac is getting paid BIG whether he likes it or not.

Re: Mayweather says he wants Pacquiao on May 2
As much as I would love to see this fight happen, there is too much that stops it from happening. I am not sure if Mayweather realises how much it will effect his legacy if he doesn't fight Pac Man. People will always talk about it never taking place, and that may override his incredible achievements.
Thurman won't get that fight, never been a World champ, never fought for a title, and isn't even close to being recognised at that level. I full expect it to be Mayweather Vs Khan next May.

hey, thats an improvement. If he is genuine about wanting the fight then there is room for negotiate. The fight isnt happening on HIS terms, there has to be a compromise.paoxav wrote:calling manny out and demanding the impossible. way to go floyd
Pacquiao is not B side as he and his fans claim.
Re: Mayweather says he wants Pacquiao on May 2
Seen the interview, looks like it's really bothering floyd that the conclusion the mainstream have came to is he's ducking Pacquaio. Ofcourse, the way Floyd see's it, he's not ducking, it's just the Arum won't meet his every demand. If you follow Floyd on social media, every post he makes is just spammed with comments like "Fight Pacquiao you coward" - i guess Floyd is starting to be bothered by it, live my life the stigma of ducking Pacman, or get on board with Arum.
Re: Mayweather says he wants Pacquiao on May 2
For anyone who didn't read the article, Mayweather said Pacquiao could get it, and Pacquiao is asking for $40 million, but he will have to settle for less.
If he thinks anyone is fooled into thinking he's making a legitimate effort by offering Pacquiao less than $40 million for a fight, then.......... he is right. His nuthuggers will swallow whatever narrative he concocts. They're dumb, and will rationalize anything he does to be perfect and holy.Mayweather wrote:Then I offered you $40 million and you didn’t want to make the fight happen. Then you lost twice and now you’re coming back begging for the same money. That’s not going to happen.

As if Pacquiao could even say Yes, he's contracted ffs. So the offer is, you can have less than $40m from the highest grossing sporting event of all time, but first you have to convince Bob Arum to rip up your contract out of the goodness of his generous heart

Re: Mayweather says he wants Pacquiao on May 2
What Arum has stated Mayweather is asking for 66%.I just wish Arum would throw out
60% and they meet at 63%.Get this fight over with.
Even if Pacquiao takes 34% it will be more than double what he has ever made.
Arum and Pac have both said it is about legacy and not money. Then take the offer.
And as for Floyd stop being a greedy a-hole and get this deal made and do something for the fans for once.
I think everyone is sick of the bullsquirt from both sides.

Re: Mayweather says he wants Pacquiao on May 2
So the money split will be the thing that stops the fight? What Floyd said about Pac losing twice after the $40 million offer is correct, and Pac's own PPV sales are disappointing. So now Mayweather is being criticized for wanting the lion's share of the purse?
It was 50-50 before, but team Pac did refuse because of random blood testing issues. In between all of this Pac publicly called Floyd out and wanted to fight for free.
Are any of the above statements a lie?
Pac offered Cotto a 76/24% offer to fight back when Cotto was the champion, plus made him cut below the weight limit.(or no fight) Was that fair? The guy that is the draw gets the lion's share of the purse. If Pac doesn't take Mayweather's offer it is him that will be doing the ducking, again. After all, he said he would fight for free for the fans.
In case none of you remember, Floyd took much less when he fought DLH, because DLH was the big draw then.

66% of what exactly? The revenues?
So Floyd gets 66% and Pacquiao as you say gets 34%, does that mean Showtime, Haymon, Top Rank, GoldenBoy & HBO squabble over what's left? Oh wait, there is 0% left.

Re: Mayweather says he wants Pacquiao on May 2
All Pacquiao has to do is take whatever Mayweather offers him, then after he wins the fight, he can be in the driver's seat and take the lion's share for the next one. Imagine how much will be made if there is a trilogy? Unless of course, he doesn't think he will win. ![[icon_e_surprised.gif] :oo](./images/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif)

66% of everything is better than Pac gave Cotto, and about the same as Floyd got with DLH.Ricky_ wrote:tiny_acres wrote:What Arum has stated Mayweather is asking for 66%.I just wish Arum would throw out

i'm not entirely sure how to explain this point in any simpler terms to the simpletons.
Pacquiao is contracted to Top Rank Promotions. He cannot accept any offers outwith his promoter.

So the TV companies broadcast Pac vs Cotto & Floyd vs Oscar for free? to put up for the purse.
I am not in the loop of the negotiations so I can only assume those are the percentages that both parties are
referencing
Ricky it is comments like the one you posted which makes you appear as troll.
Reading a bunch of your posts you show a ton f knowledge on the sport. But become
troll like when posting nonsense that no one has implied or inferred

The problem is fans just blurt out nonsense like "Pacquiao should just accept 30%" or whatever as a statement like that is in anyway relevant or realistic.
A little bit of understanding how the events work wouldn't go a miss before, you know, posting your opinion on it.
Floyd himself posted this:
Floyd isn't a promoter, he gets a flat cheque of $32m as part of his Showtime deal, they also give him a % of PPV revenues if the fight generates money. In other words, Floyd has bosses, and contractual obligations to fufill, just like Pacquiao has a boss, and contractual obligations to fufill.
That CHQ is from Maidana, top left corner you can see "Gross pay" (his 32m gaurentee) - the fight didn't make profit, so there were no upsides, and you can see the deductions bottom left, including his anti-doping fee (funny he pays his own doping don't you think). As a result, after deductions he takes home 600k less than his purse.
Couple of notes;
1. All revenues before Floyd;s purse are filtered through GoldenBoy Promotions (as per the cheque)
2. The cheque is made out to Mayweather Promotions - which ofcourse, has outgoings and obligations and employees of it;s own, so it's not actually Floyd's personal pay cheque.
Now compare it to the Alvarez fight, which shows about $41.5m as Gross pay. That's because that fight made money so Floyd got a portion of the profits.
That was a mega fight, sure Floyd was the highest paid individual in the show, but there was lenty of moeny to go around, for CBS, for Goldenboy, for Saul.
Now you say you assume that the "parties" are referencing some imaginary purse being put up by a Saudi. Do you honestly think this fight needs a charitable donor in the form of some Saudi Prince? When Floyd is saying he wants to pay Pacquiao $40m or whatever, he's talking out his ass. It's nothing but a sound bite to get the fans off his ass. He knows it doesn't work like that. Arum is the biggest promoter in the business, much bigger than Oscar De La Hoya. The real problem is that rather than receiving his paycheque from GoldenBoy Promotions, Floyd would need to let Top Rank run this event, and pay him his cheque.
Re: Mayweather says he wants Pacquiao on May 2
Floyd doesn't want this fight lol if it Lucas Mathessy instead of Pac but with these same numbers the fight would be made, actually years
ago. Its Manny's style and ability which is the REAL problem was beyond the finances
He wants none of that patented straight left hand
