It's really ridiculous Lara just schooled Ishe the same way he did with Trout Easly. Yet gets critism from American commentors saying he's running but when Floyd fights the exact same way in many of his fights its a master boxing lesson.
If Lara was American my god he would be hailed as the second coming of Mayerather.
This double standard is a fuucking joke Lara deserves more credit. I can understand the Canelo fight he jumped on the bike a bit more ala Mayweather/maidana II. But for the most part he boxes the shiit out of fighters with pure skill .

I agree for the most part as far as his style being criticized, and deserves more credit.kidbazooka1 wrote:It's really ridiculous Lara just schooled Ishe the same way he did with Trout Easly. I do think if Lara didn't have the draw with Molina and Vanes he would be looked at as much greater. I thought he beat Canelo. No way he is getting Floyd at this point in Floyd's career. Hopefully he will go after GGG to get the respect he deserves. (He called him out last year but team GGG wasn't interested) Another good fight for him would be Andrade. He could work to unify 154 at least.

Lara needs some end product. When he knocked Trout down late he should have pushed on for the stoppage.
It's very difficult to become a star in boxing if you have no end product. Floyd's stardom is built upon his showmanship i guess cause he stinks the joint out nearly every fight now, but, when he was making a name for himself he certainly had an end product; he could punch until he hit Welterweight. He was a defence fighter with an outstanding offence, beat the living shit out of Corrales, Gatti, Mitchell. He didn't exactly put a beat down on Hatton but he systematically took him a part and the finish was spectacular, putting him face first into the ring post with a check hook he never saw coming.
When has Lara ever shown an end product? Or Rigondeaux for that matter as another fighter being compared to Floyd but whenever i watch him he just goes backwards.
There's nothing wrong with being a master of the sweet science, watching guys like Crawford, Lomachenko, etc... I see a new crop of technically gifted, slick boxers. But if you want the purses and the fan base, nobody wants to see 120-108's where the other guy doesn;t have a scratch on him.
Lara is a vastly superior fighter to Brandon Rios, but unless he finds some spiteful punches he's going to finish his career making a fraction of Rios makes, and rightfully so.

Erislandy Lara like Rigo is a product of a system, where it is all about hit and don't get hit, and also involves counter punching. When you watch the Angulo fight, you didn't see Lara lead, Angulo was coming forward forcing the action and Lara was counting and then out the door like a long dog, but there where times in that fight he had to shoot it out. Lara can mix it up when he has too.
Against Canelo Alvarez he did counter well, but did not follow it up enough which probably cost him the fight.
