I'm thinking that one of them is playing hardball. Maybe Cotto could be threatening a potential Floyd fight at like 155 for the middleweight strap. It would be a good negotiating point.

A version of DLH is that Canelo accepted all terms and is waiting for Cotto to accept. However, there is no agreed venue, so it may be an important point for disagreement.

Canelo and his camp have agreed to fight Cotto that weekend, but little negotiations are yet being made on Cotto's behalf.
Cotto is using Arum at the moment, but he's contractually a free agent and may not want to use Arum in the end, since he'll have to give Arum at minimum, a future fight option. Cotto is the only major PPV fighter that is not obliged to one side of the promoter/network war or another, and he's wisely taking his time in choosing his path.

Cotto is well aware of his financial standing in the sport, and he'll refuse any type of deal which doesn't reflect him as the A side or at minimum, equal to Canelo. That's going to prove problematic, since DLH and Canelo are convinced that he's the A side, deserving of the lion's share in any fight of his going forward.
Egos will come into play, no doubt.

Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing Canelo V Cotto though so I hope it gets made.

I was under the impression that canelo and golden boy have conceded that cotto would be the A side as far as coming out last, but that the purse would be 50/50 and that the venue would be whoever gives the best deal. That seemed very fair to me.

This. Floyd will still be able to offer Miguel more money. From rumors & just looking at the landscape for Floyd it makes sense Miguel is still an option for him & imho is the best option for Floyd if Floyd is to keep the Cinco de Mayo date (outside of Bob dying in the next month or two & the fight with Manny being makeable). And Miguel would be F#CKING RETARDED to not take more money to fight Floyd again so I can understand him holding off & exploring options here. Miguel only has a few fights left.

Saul signing a contract that Miguel obviously hasn't agreed to is simply a ploy to try to make Miguel look bad or pressure him. It won't work cuz 99% of fans forget this silly pageantry in 30 days or less or don't care to begin with & Miguel is smart enough to know the deal so its not gonna pressure him either.

Both guys think they are the A side, so negotiations will be tough. With Roach on Cotto's side it will make things even tougher. He already demanded it be 155 instead of 160.

Considering the fighters involved, I believe that this fight will get made. Both fighters fear no man. Too much points toward this being a superfight. This is the antithesis of FMJ v Pac, which I would be surprised by it coming to fruition. I would be just as surprised if Canelo v Cotto fails to be made.

True, a battle of Floyd leftovers should be good, no matter if you are a m-fan or p-fan. The fact that both fans of these boxers hate each other should make it good. Both though, have huge egos that will make negotiations tough. In reality, both should realize that they neither are elite fighters. :OhYes:
