I wonder why he does it, does he really need the money that badly? I'm certain its not for "love of the sport"
He was never overly nervous about the act of fighting, it was a fear of losing. Now that losing is his job, he won't give a shit.

its sad now, both men are long past their best, both are long past the time when its gotten to the stage where its worrying to carry on boxing.

both of them should have retired back in 2010, Botha should have retired after his fight with Evander Holyfield for the World Boxing Federation title and Williams should have retired after his loss to Derek Chisora for the British title.

when this fight happens. no when the entire event happens it wont be worth it, there is nothing for either of them winning or losing at the end of the night.

both men shouldn't be boxing that is a given.
But if they are both going to insist on carrying on, then I would rather it be against each other than some young, up and coming killer...

Every time Danny Williams as much as farts there is a topic about him. We all know that he should be banned, there was a topic several months/years ago. Nothing isnt goin to change. Danny Williams is allowed to live his life as he wishes. Its not for us to tell him to pack it in. Fcuk me surely his wife has time to tell him inbetween counting all his money.

I think its about time we dropped the subject. Lets start a this up when the guy has severely injured himself, got a serious life threatening injury at least something new.

Fighting Botha has to be the safest fight in the history of fighting, this is proberly where the expression cant punch out a a paper bag came from, neither can throw a damn punch anymore so if they want to earn a few quid let them get it on. Jesus im sick of hearing about Danny Williams, its all old news nothing we have not heard before. Its like im in groundhog day.

Bollox im off to bed.

To qualify, you have to eat your bodyweight in Maltesers and they both did it without breaking a sweat. :TU:

Danny has not worn wraps for a few fights if the gloves feel nice then he feels he don't need wraps also you do not have to wear wraps and that's up to the fighter

Even though either of them fighting is a sad sight, I think Botha has quite a bit more left than Danny and expect him to win.

There is no way Danny Williams should be fighting still. As people have been saying, Botha has a lot more in the tank than Williams and should win easily.

Afterwards, both men should retire.

It is an odd one that, I know for title fights etc an official watches the hand wrapping and signs them accordingly but even for a 'down the bill' contest they are surely mandatory (?) and wouldn't/shouldn't someone check before the gloves go on?

As for 'throwing fights' you're probably right, I've always though this 'fight' was questionable for example?

I actually hope Danny Williams is throwing these fights. I watched his fight against Adrian Granat, it was awful to see - if he didn't throw it, he has ZERO punch resistance. ZERO.

Gotta be hard for someone like Williams that doesn't make enough in their careers to retire on

After devoting so much of his life to one thing what options does he really have when it comes to putting bread on the table?

It's probably this, working doors or crime that he has to choose from

Easy to judge and yes he should be protected but he's gotta earn his dough somehow

Williams should have retired after he lost to Carl Baker.

but presumably, he wouldn't have had his mortgage wavered.

Williams must have earned enough to retire on. Earning it and using it wisely is the key though

I thought he was doing well a few years ago, financially speaking. Perhaps he is getting good dough for being the knock over job thesedays?

Absolutely destroyed his record though! He was completely shot against Chisora let alone now
