Andy Lee A live underdog?
Andy Lee A live underdog?
You can get more than 3.5 to 1 on him, Korobov has fought all bums
I'm not saying Lee will win but I think 3.5 to 1 is a bit of an overlay by the oddsmakers

I'd say about 80% chance Korobov will win, likely by KO/TKO around the 6th or 7th round.
But Lee hits hard, so he always has a punchers' chance.

Re: Andy Lee A live underdog?
Lee should be an even bigger underdog than he is. He sucks.

No. Lee is very average on the world stage
Re: Andy Lee A live underdog?
Korobov is a counter-puncher. He will not rush forward and get caught.Freedom2013 wrote:I'd say about 80% chance Korobov will win, likely by KO/TKO around the 6th or 7th round.

Re: Andy Lee A live underdog?
John Jackson was kicking the snot out of Lee last fight before walking into 1
shot as he was going in for the KO. Korobov is a boxer. And very smart. He won't walk into that crap.
There's a reason Haymon wouldn't let Quillin fight Korobov. He is a good boxer and people will find out soon.

Koribov fades in the later rounds, that is a cause of concern.
Re: Andy Lee A live underdog?
I suspect that was caused by lack of motivation. Hopefully, he prepared better for this title fight. If he loses to Lee, then his hopes for good paydays are probably over.

Korobov has a very good chin, no way Lee is knocking him out the way he did to Jackson. I wouldn't bet any significant money on Lee no matter the odds because you will lose it.

Lee barely beat welterweight journeyman Frank Haroche Horta, he is getting a beating tonight, no doubt.

And he's only been fighting over 10 rounds. Bob Arum's a top promoter, but him and his matchmaker have cocked up big time, he's going into a world title fight with zero 12 round experience, thankfully for him Lee doesn't have much either.hulkmaniac wrote:Koribov fades in the later rounds, that is a cause of concern.

Korobov was begging to fight Quillin. You think he's worried about Lee?expe wrote:And he's only been fighting over 10 rounds. I'm sure he's trained and ready. He was an elite amateur. He's done plenty of rounds.
Re: Andy Lee A live underdog?
By looking at the recent odds. In my opinion Devon Alexander against favorite Khan is more of a live underdog than Andy Lee is vs. Korobov. The odds are almost the same in both fights even though Korobov is the more favorite based on the odds numbers.
Meaning if I were to bet. I'd bet on Alexander beating Khan more so than Lee beating Korobov.

I don't think he'll be any more worried than he usually is going into a fight, doesn't guarantee that he will win.diddy wrote:Korobov was begging to fight Quillin. Amateur fights are over 3 rounds, he's never trained for a 12 rounder, or been 12 rounds. You can't get that experience in the gym or in the amateurs, Lee's only fought in one 12 rounder before this, so it won't be as big an issue, but he's not as prepared as he could be and if he's fading in 10 rounders, what's going to happen when he has to go 12, better to find out before you start fighting for world titles IMO.

You are exactly right the mythology on Korbov is he gets tired, I think they even did a nose surgery to remove damage a few years back to help his breathing.hulkmaniac wrote:Koribov fades in the later rounds, that is a cause of concern.
So Korbov is good for 4 rounds for sure. and in the fight with the Uzcategui Korbov coach was constantly working on Korbov breathing between rounds almost as if Korbov has some type of anxiety issue to hyperventilate.
Of all the fights tonight on both networks this one has the most interest for me followed by Bradley vs Chaves , Khan vs Alexander and Keith Thurmans fight in that order. I am sure there will be plenty of pleasant surprises for boxing fans tonight in all these fights.

@expe
Good points about the amateur to pro championship rounds thing, I see Korbov as the better fighter here against Lee, with the question mark of stamina hanging of Korbov, if I was a gambler this wouldn't be the fight I would risk my hard earned money on.

Re: Andy Lee A live underdog?
Yes Lee is "a live underdog," but Korobov is a very good bet.

Re: Andy Lee A live underdog?
You read what I wrote correctly, but what I meant to say that there would be plenty of surprises in both the Showtime and HBO card in total due to just the large amount of fights I think it is a total of 7 bouts, even if they appear to be a lot of mismatches on paper a few good fights have to emerge just due to the large amount of fights happening.diddy wrote:Pleasant surprises in all these fights? Re: Andy Lee A live underdog?
Clear first round for Korobov.
Re: Andy Lee A live underdog?
This fight is terrible. 2 guys looking to counter each other and not engaging.
2-1 Korobov
2-1 Korobov
Re: Andy Lee A live underdog?
I think Lee took the third. 2-1 Korobov.
Re: Andy Lee A live underdog?
3-1 Korobov
