Keith Thurman vs Leonard Bundu

Believe me Thurman is the real deal, I was not sold on him in the early stages, but he has turned by opinion around, a fighter of mine sparred with him in florida a few times, whilst he sparred with Randall Bailey and Carlos Molina, plus many other top fighters, he said Thurman was by far the best, he was surprised how good his skills were and how intelligent he was in the ring, not to mention that every punch is damaging, the same fighter sparred with Kel Brook a number of times as a paid sparring partner and from the encounters he felt Thurman was a level above, I know it is just sparring, but Thurman uses 18 oz gloves, because hits so hard and does not want to damage his hands, the only reason he has not been tested by the best is because he is avoided.

Bundu might be overwhelmed by the occasion and razzmatazz of Las Vegas but it might work the other way as well. I only see one winner in Thurman though.

Bundu has never been down and we know he's got a good engine. I think Thurman by decision unless he's really got that power, might work against him if he does KO Bundu in style, people will be swerving him for sure then. I think it will be a tougher nights work than most people are suggesting.

Thurman did what he had to do last night - I wasn't hugely impressed other than the first few rounds, but nevertheless he controlled an awkard, tough boxer for 12 rounds.

Sadly, it showed how far away Frankie Gavin is from world level. He's had such a disappointing career, really had high hopes for him when he first turned pro.

I disagree,if Gavin was to have performed like that against Bundu then we would tipping him to take the next step comfortably,with the power that Thurman has i could see why people were hoping he would go for the KO,he dominated a class fighter from the opening bell so saying it was "poor" is a tad harsh

Only in Vegas would "boxing fans" boo that performance ,idiots with more money than sense who have no clue about the sport of boxing and are only there coz its the hottest ticket in town that weekend,the same kind of people who would say "Ali would KO that Thurman dude easy"


Guaranteed you'd find more knowledgable fans at a kids amateur show in a social club than you would in the whole of the MGM Grand

Thurman deserved to be booed, he held back too much.

A boring, safety first display in what should have been a showcase. Hopefully he never does that again.

Well not as exciting as we thought it was going to be, but Thurman controlled a strong come forward boxer for 12 rounds. I was hoping he would step it up a bit after 8 rounds.

Thurman's talked the talk then put on that performance I understand it was dominant but it was highly unimpressive considering the talk. When a fighter is supposedly avoided by Mayweather and Pacquiao you expect them to make a statement not back up continually against a talented but smaller, older and lighter handed fighter. When you hear Golovkin or Kovalev talk about being avoided they go in there every time and make a statement, Thurman just sort of left an empty void and killed some of the support he seemed to be getting for someone who has, in faireness, done very little as a pro.
