Would also like to hear peoples opinions. Particularly on Johnny Garton who won the Southern Area title. Been following his career but unfortunately couldn't go to this one, so wouldn't mind hearing some feedback from neutrals

He was lucky to win. I struggled to give him any rounds before he got the knockout. Battle pressed him on to the back foot all night, where he was really ineffective. One comment from one of the commentators was that if you left Battle pressurise you (which the commentator did is his fight with Battle) then you will struggle. Garton let Battle pressurise him all night.

I watched the last 2 fights of fightpass, it was okay, Upton completely destroyed his opponent and it was a complete mismatch. The Battle-Garton fight was okay, it could have been so much better if Garton had come for a war.

I think it's worth the money to have fightpass, as I never would have been able to get to the York Hall on Saturday.

I was surprised he scored a stoppage to be honest, as the whole way through his career its the thing I really thought he lacked.

I was the MC for this show.
Here is a brief roundup...
Battle laid on the pressure for sure! He had Garton defending all night. A couple of good shots from Garton however got him the W. Was an entertaining fight, I think Battle has huge potential, he didn't take a step backward all night! Im not taking anything away from Garton, he is a tough opponent and as I said, managed to get the win but I reckon in a rematch Battle takes it.

Poxton v Jupp on the other hand... not a pretty fight but was definitely fight of the night for me! Really good match up here, super fast paced for a 10 round fight, and until I got the scores from the ref I really couldn't call it! both men gave it everything, really enjoyed watching that one!

The rest of the card was pretty good!
Aji Sharif came up short (pun intended) against a tough 6' 8" Lithuanian.
Rakeem Noble as entertaining as always!
Leon McKinsie had a good outing as well demonstrating his athleticism.
Ryan "Crash Bang" Taylor took a little while to get warm but after all that time off I would have expected this and put in a good nights work.
Upton just walked through Voss like he wasn't even there! He dropped him several times before the ref stepped in and he was still wobbley when I saw him at the end of the night.

Kennedy, Lopes, Hart and Day all had a good night as well turning in wins for the Goodwin team.
Day had moments of brilliance where he forgot himself and really flowed but they were in and out. I think he has real talent if he can get out of his own way.

The Upton Clann was in the house which always makes for a great atmosphere!!

Really good showing from the Goodwin team for the first FightPass show!
Steve Goodwin also announced several new signings, Prince Patel, Danny Parsons, David Abraham and Louie Darlin. This must take the Goodwin stable over 60 fighters now!

After the first couple of rounds I actually thought Garton was excellent. His head movement, parrying, timing and anticipation were very impressive from ringside. Battle was tenacious and fit but Garton had a bit more variety imo.

I saw from Battle's FB page he broke his hand in the second... He's calling for a rematch. Goodwin said he's looking into it. Should be interesting if he gets it!
