I know little about Lee other than he can fight a bit. I'd be tempted to go for Lee as he's operated in a bigger pond than Saunders - but Saunders seems to have an air of being able to get a job done. I think he is capable of boxing "up" another level or two, to the level of his next opponents.handsofstone wrote:.........and heartcold187 wrote:BJS got heart and chin thought......and HEART!!!!

Andy has had to idig really, really deep 2 fights running now, and has found what some may call that lottery punch.
Sooner or later he won't hit the jackpot and will be beat. Billy Joe has a very good beard and has some very good skills of his own. If he paces the fight correctly he takes this portion of alphabet soup.

This.
He's not going to keep getting out of jail.

Re: Lee vs BJS
Lee; his power is world class, whilst I don't think BJS boxing skills are.
I think Lee's jab would cause plenty of problems for Saunders, and he has the power to get him out of there in the blink of an eye.
I don't think Saunders is anything that special to be honest. Without his power, Lee wouldn't be that special either, but that right hand is a serious weapon.
He won't keep getting out of Jail forever, but it's enough to get him past Saunders.

Am i the only 1 who thought Lee actually had a shout in most of the rounds,i thought they were all close,i thought he might have been waiting too long to get his punches off but i thought he was doing ok,it wasnt a brilliant start by Korobov either i thoughtYes We Can wrote:Andy has had to idig really, really deep 2 fights running now, and has found what some may call that lottery punch.

I could see Lee winning the third and fifth, but I thought he was at least down 3-2 and losing the 6th until the stoppage.handsofstone wrote:Am i the only 1 who thought Lee actually had a shout in most of the rounds,i thought they were all close,i thought he might have been waiting too long to get his punches off but i thought he was doing ok,it wasnt a brilliant start by Korobov either i thoughtYes We Can wrote:Andy has had to idig really, really deep 2 fights running now, and has found what some may call that lottery punch.

I had it 4-1 and I thought the two 5-0 scores were too wide, as Lee seemed to clearly win the 3rd imo.

I had Lee 3-2 up going into the 6th,but i'll be honest i was struggling to seperate them,i usually know pretty quickly who i'll give the round to but i was dithering more than oncecrusader wrote:I could see Lee winning the third and fifth, but I thought he was at least down 3-2 and losing the 6th until the stoppahe.handsofstone wrote:Am i the only 1 who thought Lee actually had a shout in most of the rounds,i thought they were all close,i thought he might have been waiting too long to get his punches off but i thought he was doing ok,it wasnt a brilliant start by Korobov either i thoughtYes We Can wrote:Andy has had to idig really, really deep 2 fights running now, and has found what some may call that lottery punch.

50/50 in my opinion

I can't see three rounds for Lee. Granted there wasn't a huge amount in them, but I thought Korobov clearly did more in the first, second, and fourth.I had Lee 3-2 up going into the 6th,but i'll be honest i was struggling to seperate them,i usually know pretty quickly who i'll give the round to but i was dithering more than once
Re: Lee vs BJS
If Lee wins against BJS, I wonder if there would be a chance for him to fight a rematch against Chavez Jr. in Vegas at some catch weight. That could even be borderline PPV with a good co-main event.
Re: Lee vs BJS
Saunders for me, too young too much work rate in the early rounds. He might not be "world class, world class" but his chin certainly seems sound and I think his boxing brain is a good one.
Lee's power has got him out of jail a couple of times, but I think Saunders' experience will see him through any troublesome moments. Lets not forget that Lee has struggled against the likes of Craig McEwan - good fighter, but one I think we would favour Saunders to win quite comfortably.

Wrong link? Unless a French economist rejecting Legion D'Honneur is related to this in some way I'm unaware of!Broomhall wrote:http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-30650097
88-84 Lee right now...not sure I've seen a closer poll after so many votes.

The French economist Thomas Piketty has previously gone on record saying he favours BJS over Lee in a closely competitive bout.crusader wrote:Wrong link? Picketty is good on the inside, but lacks mobility imo.Boxerbeetle wrote:The French economist Thomas Piketty has previously gone on record saying he favours BJS over Lee in a closely competitive bout.crusader wrote:Wrong link? Re: Lee vs BJS
I think it has to be fought before the middle of March, either Dublin or London, good fight in store, will Sky Sports be screening.
Re: Lee vs BJS
I'm surprised that this fight is being made next. I would have thought a soft defence for Lee and one more fight for BJS before challenging the winner.
If they fight each other next, I favour Lee. Hard to pick against BJS with his knack for winning, but Andy's experience separates them at the moment IMO.

Think it may be the WBO won't allow a voluntary.THEBUTCH wrote:I'm surprised that this fight is being made next. I would have thought a soft defence for Lee and one more fight for BJS before challenging the winner.

Lee may benefit from the continued good matchmaking. It has been when he's stepped down in levels he has looked his worst.jameswilson wrote:Think it may be the WBO won't allow a voluntary.THEBUTCH wrote:I'm surprised that this fight is being made next. he was dreadful against Horta and not as good as expected against Fitzgerald.
Re: Lee vs BJS
I've been keeping an eye on this thread since it began and it's been virtually 50/50 from the start to now, I personally fancy Lee because of his experience but Billy will be 100% up for this and I'm sure it will be up there for candidate of fight of the year, hope it happens next !!
Re: Lee vs BJS
Thoughts following Lee's draw with Quillin?
I've noticed that Lee tends to have the most problems with agressive opponents who can bully him. Can BJS do that?
