Should just keep taking the pay days, if he ever stepped up to world class it would be humiliating for him.
Bennie and Captain Hook really used to dish out stick to Lee.

Humble pie anyone?
Yes, I'll give him credit when deserved. Huge win v a good opponent and a title to boot.

But pulling on threads from three or more years ago is a little desperate!

Good luck to him, and congrats on your bet.

I was really impressed with how Lee instantly saw the opportunity for that right hook and how quickly he delivered it, beautiful punch.

Excellent win from Lee. It looked like he was going to go home empty handed after 5 rounds, but found a corker of a right hand and went about finishing the job in impressive fashion.

I suspect the temptation will be to line up an easy first defence, but Lee's credibility as a world champion will really soar if he can beat worthy challenger in his 1st defence. With GGG unstoppable at middleweight, for Lee to be taken seriously I'd love to see him score another solid win.

Or....a unification with Jermain Taylor wouldn't harm him.

A 'unification' fight involving Andy Lee & Jermain Taylor, how depressing is that?

Not only a top class boxer also a top class bloke.
He has done more for the travelling community to stop people thinking that all travellers are thieving , bullying, intimidating and general low-life shit.

Echo all the good wishes and congratulations given to Andy Lee on this thread, seems like a decent guy. Will be interesting to see the route he takes, whether he tries to at least unify against Taylor or whether they try to line up a couple of easier paydays. Hope they choose the more challenging options. Would be good to see the recent British title holders like Lee, Frampton and Brook buck the easy defence trend and show the ambition to chase the big challenges like only really Froch has done in recent times

Since getting a Sky deal, Froch hasn't chased any challenge. Bute was a shit or bust fight, Mack ans Groves were both meant to be easy. Kessler was arguably shot... the whole world knows who the real challenge is, and its not Chavez jr!

Wasn't intended to be a pro or anti Froch comment. The fact remains that he won a world title and still looked to fight the best in the division. I accept that signing for the super 6 forced the issue and he was on the edges prior to that so had everything to gain going into that setup but there are too many boxers happy to pick up a version of the world title then attempt to coast.

Regards Andy Lee I would like him to attempt a unification fight. After all he is early 30s now and even if he lost his title there would still be big domestic fights out there against Murray, Macklin, Saunders etc.

Once a fighter wins a world title they should continue to seek bigger challenges, that was the point I was trying to make.....badly!
