There are nine advertisers paying for the privilege of their brand to appear on TV being worn by Khan… on boxing attire that will be hyped-up by the media as the most expensive shorts ever worn inside the ring, which will almost certainly be auctioned off to a casino or a museum, with the proceeds going towards the Amir Khan Foundation (a charity).

I honestly don’t think that there’s anything wrong with these shorts being made and then sold off in order to help deprived parts of the world with orphanages, schools and clean waters.

You guys always look for opportunities to be negative and impulsively criticise without considering the big picture!

The fact that shorts like this are being made is why the poor won't be helped ... you need to see the big picture.

Also, NO ONE, not even the most fanatic British boxing fan, pays more than the price of the shorts. Especially, when they'll be the shorts Khan wore after losing to Devon Alexander.

sorry, i see your point. still don't think it is a great
idea to enter a ring with crazy expensive trunks. i
guess there can be other ways to raise money for
charity. some showing off element seems to be in
this. it is to me like other of his decisions: i see the
point and idea, but still think they are slightly off
balance.

- will these shorts make a difference ... no
- will Alexander be bothered what he's wearing when he is trying to knock him flat... no

The concept is'nt a bad idea . Get the publicity , auction the shorts for charity , win win situation .. But the problem is Khan just is'nt that popular , Ali was , Tyson in his hayday , could of pulled it off , Floyd Mayweather even , . Amir Khan has a proven track record as a successful charity fundraiser. If the shorts are sold for anything exceeding £50K… and based on media feedback, they may actually sell for far more than £100K… then all those moronic naysayers must feel compelled to apologise for their derogatory remarks!

That being said, even if the shorts sold for £200K, none of these guys would make any attempt whatsoever to retract their criticism of Khan, they would instead find something else about him to undermine.
