Great shout MW - this was his 'coming out' party for me - indisputable evidence that he is the real deal after an impressive start to his pro career.

Love the way he went about the job after catching his Narvaez cold - stepped off, was patient and found room for a wide variety of hard shots - didn't crowd his work or blow himself out chasing the KO as you might expect a relative pro novice would..

His nickname appears well deserved - he could be the next Nonito Donaire given the way he boxes

Have I been wrong about the division limits for all these years? I always thought 109 and 106 were the light fly and straw-weight limits?

105 is straw and 108 is light fly. good to see that Boxing Monthly have Gonzalez their fighter of the year award, was the right choice and showed real worldwide appreciation of the sport. Boxing News gave it to Cotto!?!?! Lazy journalism and they're often guilty of being UK/USA focused. Wonder what the new year will bring for Inoue....he looks like Golovkin, power wise

TBF there have been some terrible "awards" this past year, how Kosei Tanaka didn't get prospect of the year is a mystery, Shingo Inoue wasn't even mentioned in most trainer of the year things, the BWAA and ESPN ones were a load of crap which gave no credit to anything from Asia unless it was on a Macau card. Ignorance really.
