In the latest q&a with Kugan, Eddie mentions a deal to co-promote in the usa, I wonder who this is? Anyone have any ideas?
He also mentions a deal with a european promotional outfit to show their events on the fight pass platform, sounds like it will be sauerland. I'm quite happy with this as they have a good team of fighters.
Matchroom deals with overseas promoters
Re: Matchroom deals with overseas promoters
US co promotion is probably the Jamie McDonnell fight.
Re: Matchroom deals with overseas promoters
would love to see AJ on the bill make his US debut vs a USA fringe contender. travis kaufmann or Gerald Washington

The co-promotion thing is an over exaggeration by Hearn...whenever he comes back from the states he goes on about these deals in the pipeline but nothing comes out of it.

I agree.Manchester Hitman wrote:The co-promotion thing is an over exaggeration by Hearn...whenever he comes back from the states he goes on about these deals in the pipeline but nothing comes out of it.
As with promoters, a significant element of the game is bullsh!t and smoke and mirrors.
Eddie is happy to do this, and IFL are happy to provide him with an outlet to do this, not to mention his newspaper column and his dad's column in another newspaper.

There could be substance to it now the Froch fight is coming together. Sauerland is a cert and DeGale Groves will happen.
Re: Matchroom deals with overseas promoters
Good for Hearn if it's true.
I'd rather British promoters looked more West instead of East for opponents.
Sick of Latvians and whatever else in the opposite corner. At least America / Mexico has some decent stock. Look at Ray Beltran for example of a man with a heap of losses who can scrap.
