good call billy, I was at another show that night and word came through on the grape that wayne had done tak with a one punch ko, it was a very surprising result, a sickening shot that was just compulsive viewing.
Gerald McClellan can't remember the name of the fighter he ko's it's the one where the guy is out cold and mcclellan is already walking away to a neutral corner before the guy hits the canvas
Broomhall wrote:Richard Grant v James Butler when Butler sucker punched Grant at the end of the fight. That was horrible. Ray Mercer V Tommy Morrison was also a bit sickening.
A lot of the "sickening" KO's have come from incompetent refereeing and corner work imo such as when Duran beat up Moore.
Agree with the Grant punch utterly sickening. What a rotten human he was.
Wow that was a scary knockout, can't believe it was back in 2001.
Good job that was Augie's last fight and God knows why the ref decided to count to 10, he obviously expected him to spring up at 9...
looked up to see what happened to Johnson, after hearing him say he left it late, too much partying, but now he was going to take it seriously ....only to find out he came back a few months ago, at 45, and is saying the same thing...tough man obviously !

If it's based on most sickening then hands down its the tragic fight between defending world champion, Levander Johnson & Jesus Chavez.
I can't believe it hasn't been mentioned in this thread.
Most sickening I've seen, I remember watching it and you could tell before Johnson even came out for the 11th round he was in serious trouble.
Unfortunately he was sent out after taking a 1 sided beating for 10 rounds, and took yet more brutal punishment for about another minute before sagging against the ropes with his head being rolled around before totally collapsing to the canvas. He never regained concousness.
The world flyweight champion back in the early 80s Antônio Avelar, A massive puncher, but gets blasted out in the first round of this world title defence - and my god you won't see a more shocking one punch knockout than this one....

Ola's KO of Terry Dunstan was crazy. Not great opposition but a great punch. The fact I was pissed up in Napa at the time might have made it better than it actually was though! Then Wlad V Haye sent me to sleep.
