Canelo v cotto is the fight to make and it would smash any Floyd not involving Manny and would show Floyd its not all about him like his yes men have made him believe.

Boxing is bigger than any fighter and always will be that's what Floyd doesn't realize.

Floyd shadow boxing would out draw Canelo - Cotto.
I don't see Canelo- Cotto doing more than 500,000 buys

This. 500k is a huge success for Saul vs Miguel, 1M is a huge success for Floyd vs Miguel II. People care about Floyd. Some care about him winning, more care about him losing. You are underestimating the Floyd hate if you think Floyd wouldn't outdraw Saul vs the same B side opponent. In a couple years maybe Saul is doing Floyd numbers by himself, but he's not quite there yet.

With Arums' recent comments on 'hispanics/Cinco De Mayo' and involvement with Cotto & now rekindled flame with Oscar, it looked as though the pieces were stacking against Floyd. With Cotto vs Canelo being scheduled on Cinco De Mayo, it would freeze Floyd out of a date he's claimed as his own; Cinco de Mayweather.

The rumour has it that Floyd's counter move has been to offer Cotto a rematch, paying him more than he'd make in a bout with Canelo.

We all know these things work in the background with laywers, TV bosses, and only have speculation to go on, but it looks like either Floyd, Canelo or Cotto, 1 of those 3 will be flushed out of the Cinco De Mayo weekend.

I'm a bit surprised that both Floyd and Manny haven't been desperate to get at cotto simply because he's the linear middle weight champ yet he's really a welterweight that they both have already beat and would both be favourite to win again ,as much as I like cotton he's an easy way for both fighters to win the middle weight belt

after thinking about it, you are so true......it would be easy to make history, being middleweight champion. at least easier than what oscar did try to box a 6'1 hopkins or boxing a big golovkin. cotto can be beaten, although at midd he realy looked strong and pac and may would come into the ring as 154 boxers.

I think it could top that wit the right hype and promotional investment - it's a great fight too. Close to a million people paid for bouts like Floyd vs Guerrero or Maidana... or Pacquiao vs guys like Clottey/Bradley. People are fed up with them now, they offer nothing different and their numbers show both guys need a viable opponent with both doing worse than expected with lesser names. Cotto vs Canelo is a massive fight, Mexico vs Puerto Rico, both guys with massive American & Hispanic fan bases.
