Shit. I'm busy that day. Maybe have to watch it on Catch Up.chad wrote:More great news. Channel 5 have agreed a deal with Sauerland to show Yoan Pablo Hernandez vs. Ola Afolabi on the 6th of December!
Also if you are a fan of MMA, 5* will be showing Tito Ortiz Vs. Stephan Bonner this Sunday night from 9pm.
Looks like Channel 5 are in the fight business since being taken over by Viacom a few months ago. Great news for fight fans!

Fantastic news. I'll be routing hard for Murray but it's a big ask.

Great to see Channel 5 showing top quality international fights.
GGG vs Murray on Channel 5
I wondered why Mick was at the presser. This is pretty good, isn't it? Great exposure for Martin if he somehow does well, and cracking exposure for one of the most exciting fighters in the sport in Golovkin if he does the business as we've grown to expect. Channel 5's previous boxing coverage has shown there's an audience, and that was for Tyson Fury who, despite being top ten in his division wasn't and isn't any where near the best showcase for boxing in terms of talent, Degale when he was looking quite ordinary and a fledgling Eubank Jnr.
This is an excellent fight with a real quality operator with P4P potential. Golovkin is never anything but thrilling and the casuals should be impressed. Good for our sport, when PPV's are often damp squibs, that such a good fighter is given exposure on terrestrial TV. I hope they promote the sh*t out of it.
And, I know I'm clutching at straws here, but if this really pulls them in then Eddie can't keep on going on about Golovkin not being a draw can he? This should educate the average punter on just how much of a beast Golovkin is and maybe make the Froch fight make commercial sense, as long as he wins of course!
*cough* I mean come on Martin!

I never seen it either so cheers
Re: GGG vs Murray on Channel 5
Shame its on the same night as Abraham v Smith 2 though.
Plenty of idiots will watch Sky over Channel 5 regardless of the calibre of the fight/fighters.
Its even worse that I'm busy that night so won't be able to watch either live!!

Re: GGG vs Murray on Channel 5
I'm on a weekend away that weekend. Bit gutted, as I don't have BN or Sky Sports at home, so it'd be a good opportunity to watch a big fight without having to pinch somebody elses telly.
If I can watch it whilst away, I will. If not, I'll watch it on catch up when I'm back Monday. Pity it wasn't a week later though.
