Flannagan v Ormond new date
Flannagan v Ormond new date
14th Febuary Wolverhampton Civic Hall
undercard to feature Joe Costello, Tommy Langford and Simon Barclay.
Its the card Frankie Gavin was meant to headline but has had a chest infection so looks like theyve switched the Flannagan v Ormond fight to it to keep the date

Good fight but average venue
Re: Flannagan v Ormond new date
Its a great venue to watch boxing great views from anywhere but if you mean its smaller venue than that fight deserves yeah I'd agree. As I say think they just moved that fight to this card rather than cancel it after Gavin couldn't make that date.Black Sam Bellamy wrote:Good fight but average venue
I'm quite happy its my local venue I've had Gavin v Bundu and now Flannagan v Ormond both genuine fringe world level fights in my local 'small hall'.

Ormond late stoppage
Re: Flannagan v Ormond new date
Fits perhaps 1500 for the boxing max. But a great venue. Dripping with history from boxing and classic rock gigs.
Great views from everywhere.
Should be a good night.

Re: Flannagan v Ormond new date
Didnt Flannagan and Cardle go to purse bids? I think this is a better fight fancy Flannagan to stop Ormond mid-late rounds
Re: Flannagan v Ormond new date
Makes no sense, should be chief support on the Lee / Saunders card that has to happen in March.
Re: Flannagan v Ormond new date
Depends where that fight is, if it's in London or elsewhere in England, then putting it on the undercard isn't really necessary. And they needed to get the fight on quick, Crawford's vacating, so the winner will be in prime position to fight for the vacant title, waiting would have given other fighters a chance to jump ahead of them.brian13 wrote:Makes no sense, should be chief support on the Lee / Saunders card that has to happen in March.

Re: Flannagan v Ormond new date
They had the venue booked for Frankie Gavin, he was ill so his fight had to be put back, they kept the date and moved this fight on to it. It's not the perfect venue, but it was booked and Frank has fighters around there he needs to get out, on the whole it made sense. Where else were they going to put the fight?slapbangwhallop wrote:Stupid location. Re: Flannagan v Ormond new date
Given it looks like Dublin is expected to host the Lee / Saunders fight. That makes more sense given Ormond is from Dublin. Also, I'd say Gavin wouldn't mind fighting in Dublin either given he holds or has held an Irish title.expe wrote: Where else were they going to put the fight?
Re: Flannagan v Ormond new date
I'd expect Gavin to be on the undercard of Lee's fight. They still needed to put this show on though, otherwise a few lads would be out of the ring until April/May, Manchester would have been sensible, but they must not have wanted to mess about planning a new show at short notice.brian13 wrote:Given it looks like Dublin is expected to host the Lee / Saunders fight.
