I feel sorry for Audley.Either he is so broke he has to fight.Or he is mentally unstable.

Not that it really matters but Audley landed one against Haye. He threw a few more than that.

I'm not opposed to this fight happening. It's probably a reasonable amount of money for both fighters, since British vs British fights make money. Harrison probably makes a non-negligible contribution to Joshua's resume in relation to Sprott, Skelton, Bakhtov, and Airich. What's most crucial is the fact that Joshua is active. He fought 7 times in 2014, including 4 pretty solid opponents. He's fighting Johnson 2 months after Sprott, and supposedly Harrison a little more than 2 months after Johnson. It's definitely okay to be fighting this level of opposition at this stage of his career if he's going to be that active.

Anthony Joshua should not be fighting Harrison - what the hell would it prove?

That said, I welcome Audley coming back. I think he should have a couple of domestic fights then try for the Commonwealth belt against Lucas Browne, for reason I think he would have Big Daddy's number :TU:

Audrey shouldn't fight Joshua, it's too much of a mismatch and a big step backwards for Joshua.

He could fight someone like Hughie Fury or perhaps Ian Lewison.

if it happens it will be a first round ko if AJ wants
Audley would go down very easy with AJ's power

I would pay to watch Audley face Chisora
I think it would be a decent fight

A poor fight for AJ and he learns nothing from it. It a step down from Johnson IMO.

But...it could be an easy sell. New up-coming prospect takes on Olympic gold medallist, former European champion and world title challenger. It sounds pretty good to those not in the know

To be fair, Harrison has never been world class. He was gun shy before he's even close to punch drunk du to whatever mental block he has.

Valuev who was a level above Audley averaged approximately 5 landed punches per round against David Haye,.

Wladimir the best fighter in the world landed on average 11 punches per round , a man on another level of talent in every department to big Aud.

That tells me that David for all his flaws is not an easy man to hit for these big lads.

Audley shouldn't fight AJ, he's likely a level or 2 above him already and throws to many shots for big Aud, but i wouldn't mind seeing Harrison vs Chisora at this point, and it would be a very good fight for both men in terms of profiling. I'd favour Derek but Audley would be a very live dog in that fight , Style whise and because of Chisora's lack of power.

AJ should be looking at Pala, Gerber, Rudenko and maybe somebody like Charr by the end of the year . any 2 of them in a 5 fight year would be a promising start after Johnson.

Id be ok with this fight IF Audley was fighitng on the Joshua/Johnson undercard in a 6-8 rounder to prove he has SOMETHING left. Even pop him in with a average domestic fighter. But straight into a fight with Joshua isnt the best of ideas

I would prefer to see Big Josh fight either Gary Cornish, Sam Sexton, John McDermott. With the short termobjective being the British and or Commonwealth title. Cornish is looking for a crack at it. Sexton and McDermott have been at domestic championship level. As for Audley Harrison v Big Josh. No thanks.

Its a stay busy fight for Joshua and a paycheck for Harrison. Two hometown fighters fighting in front of their own crowd. The fight means nothing but i'm guessing it will draw a good crowd in England.
