Yeh Hatton was a special crossover star, but as a hardcore boxing fan I think Froch is right up there in both achievements and watchability of his fights, so I personally think he has belatedly got to that PPV status. He'll never be Hatton of course, but who will? Chavez isn't a nothing fight, it's not amazing but it's definitely not a nothing fight.

Eddie's 'stacked undercards' again?!! The same ones we saw for Froch-Groves 1 and the Bellew-Clev PPV?! Ok, Froch-Chavez is far from confirmed, Dan is injured, Brook is likely to fight a stiff from the top 15 of the IBF, best fight of the night will be Witter knocking out Curtis Shithouse.

Let's at least wait until the show is actually announced before slagging it off

I'm actually pretty optimistic about this one - Eddie's reputation took a bit of a pounding for the Bellew-Clev II card, so hopefully he'll be looking to make amends with his next PPV.

No world title, neither are the best fighter in the division, Chavez isn't even top 10, as a fight it means and proves nothing. Don't fancy paying £15 to watch it at 5 in the morning, especially with the chance I'll fall asleep, unless the UK leg and undercard are very good.

Up to £16.95 isnt it now Expe? I agree will wait till nearer the event to see whether my hand will go in my pocket.

Cant believe the above poster that say give Eddie a chance he has been serving up one sided shit for so long that you now believe he will start putting competitive fights on?

Nothing but pure greed now.

Brook is fighting Decarie. He wont be that expensive so this is a show that could easily be covered through gate receipts, sponsors, and Sky TV money.

The American leg will be getting paid for by Stateside paymasters so the organisers of this PPV are pretty much selling two shows whilst only forking out for one.

That wont be reflected in the cost for the viewer but at least Sky and Matchroom are pulling our undies down again.

Just keeping an open mind mate. Happy to criticise when deserved - I didn't buy the Liverpool PPV & was very vocal in my opposition to it - but moaning before the card is even announced is a bit ridiculous imo.

Although I agree on keeping an open mind I am a realist & I know that I wont be at Elland Road watching Premier League football anytime soon & I also know that this bill will be typical Eddie. Ie very one sided.
The main event I hear Dan, Malinaggi & Decarie being banded about. Not one of them will be a threat to Brook so PPV on that with a poor undercard? Until proven wrong by Matchroom my money will be staying in my pocket!

People who need it pointed out than Dan is the mandatory are showing themselves up. They are getting the Dan fight out the way so Khan negotiations won't be affected. Also Kell Brook got stabbed at the end of last year, some of you might have heard. It would be stupid to risk his first fight back vs someone really risky. The PPV revolves around the Vegas bill, where you might be getting Froch v Chavez, McDonnell v Komeda and Burns in what is supposedly a decent fight.

Some of the arguments against this being any good are laughable. Froch not really being World champ because he isn't legitimate no1? Oh how convenient given you're wanking yourself into a frenzy over Butler v Tete and Mathews v Abril where none of those are the legitimate no1 either. How long has it been since the legitimate no1 fought out of interest, is he ever going to fight at Supermiddleweight again? Or just sit there with that 'my sh1t doesn't stink' look slapped on his chops giving us reasons why he can't take this fight or that fight. 'Ohhhhh it'll be at 4am, I don't wanna stay up. Ohhhhhh' Yeah convenient again how you were wanking yourself into a frenzy over getting Crawford v Beltran and the other international content on allegedly, remind us what time that stuff airs again?

No one's expecting a risky opponent for Brook, but because of that he shouldn't be fighting on PPV.

We might get Froch-Chavez, Kameda-McDonnell and Burns in a decent fight, or we might get a load of shite, Burns against any of the opponents he's likely to face isn't going to be a good fight, he's shot and going over there for a payday so a fighter can get a name on their record. Even if we got that, I'm not sure it really needs to be on PPV.

Froch won't be world champion because he'll have to drop his IBF title to fight Chavez Jr.

Tete-Butler and Abril-Mathews is the first time there's been two world title fights on the same bill in this country in 7 years and the first time two champions have been brought over for voluntary defences in 15 years, pretty understandable that people are excited about it.

Ward hasn't fought in 14 months due to contract issues, he's just signed with Rocnation and has no plans to move up to light heavyweight.

allegedly is £12 a month, with no extra charge for a load of quality fights that wouldn't be aired in this country without it. Sky Sports costs a lot more and then we're asked to pay £17 on top anytime there's a half decent fight on.

Yeah yeah the old 'ohhhh Sky costs x quid a month, I only watch boxing' bollocks. As if anyone expects anyone to believe they pay for Sky and don't watch any football, union, league, cricket etc etc etc etc etc. If anyone expects me to believe that then they may as well expect me to believe they went to dinner with Elvis on the moon.

If you're saying Burns vs anyone is naff because Burns doesn't have a chance then by the same definition Abril v Mathews is no good. Froch is at a point where if he's having to drop a title to fight Chavez in Vegas then so be it. Are you saying that if the IBF said it was ok, it's suddenly 10 times the fight? Stop being soft. And the reasons behind Ward not fighting aren't really of any interest. He's being given special treatment because of who he is. Almost anyone else would have been stripped.

And mentioning the quality fights allegedly gets, I suppose the argument of being on at 4am that you used against Froch v Chavez is now null and void again. Be sure to wheel it back when it suits you tho.

So paying for something, then being expected to pay again when they have something good on is acceptable?

Derry has a chance against Abril, I don't expect him to win, but he'll give it a real go and he's fighting to win a world title. At this stage Ricky is gun shy and looks completely shot, he should probably retire, but he needs the money, so he's being shipped off to America as cannon fodder for one of Haymon's fighters for a payday. The two aren't comparable.

If the IBF said it would be ok it wouldn't do much to the fight, but at least there would be something on the line.

And Froch isn't being given special treatment either? No one gives a fornicate about him not bothering to fight his mandatory. Not like anyone actually wants to fight Ward either is it. And Abril went 18 months without a defence and wasn't stripped.

Well done for completely missing the point again, allegedly is £12 a month, for that you usually get 4 or 5 live shows a month, most of them top quality, works out at £2-3 a show, not bothered about that when it's the only way the fights will be on and it's a reasonable price. Froch-Chavez will cost £17 and could easily be on normal Sky, it isn't worth the money and combined with being in the early hours of the morning, isn't a PPV fight and represents a bit of a ripoff, obviously not on the same level as Bellew-Cleverly, but still a ripoff.

What about all the Hatton fights etc in the past? I don't generally do early morning PPVs but for Frochy I would. Hoping to go Vegas though.
Can't really compare Hatton and other fighters with the fanbase he had. I'd happily pay to watch Hatton at 5 in the morning, no chance for Froch, especially in a nothing fight.
I paid for a couple of Hatton 5am PPV's and can remember feeling relatively disappointed after each

I get your points just fine, just pointing out how ridiculous they are and how you contradict yourself on other occasions. When Abril v Crolla was announced you were essentially giggling away at how Crolla has no chance and 'couldn't beat Derry Mathews, how can he be getting a shot' or words to that effect. Now Derry has it it's 'ohhhhh he has a chance lads he'll give it a go.'

While Froch may not be interested in the Ward rematch (because of the demands Ward will make) there will be plenty of fighters out there who would take that fight for a shot at his belt, he just walks on water and makes unreasonable demands based off of his worth, anyone can see it. Having the IBF belt on the line will add nothing to Froch v Chavez, you're the only one saying it will, and unlike Ward, Froch will get stripped for not facing a mandatory within a certain time period.

And trying to break down what you get from allegedly a month, all I have to do is look at the sports you watch (based off of posts you've made on this board alone, so probably not even taking into account all of them) and include the other non sport tv programs you watch and make an educated guess at how much you're getting. How many football matches, snooker and darts and nights of boxing are there a year, on top of the tv shows you watch. Probably less than a quid an hour with all the tv you watch and that's including the 2 x 17quid for the PPV's a year (1 of which last year none of us would have paid for or watched) that you/your Dad pays for.

The last three you mention there is an argument for a completely different thread. the first one is because both teams are sh1t.

Derry at least has a punchers chance and might drag Abril into a war, wouldn't really give Crolla a chance on either of those counts.

I don't actually watch much TV, any programs I watch are streamed online, I can't get hold of the remote often enough to watch anything. Even most of the sport I watch is streamed, football wise I only really watch match of the day, don't watch snooker, streamed darts world championship and I streamed both PPVs last year. Definitely less than a quid an hour though with the box we've got, think it's only costing £10 a month or something like that.

Going back to the last post, I would have bought Froch-Groves II, it's just a pain in the arse to order PPV without a proper sky box.

James, it's nothing to do with Ward's demands. Froch has openly said on TV he doesn't want to fight him as it would be boring and he'd lose on points. I don't blame him. And Ward has been restricted by legal problems for ages, I'm sure he'd love to box.

Kell could have his tick over comeback fight against Dan who he has to fight soon anyway.

Only seen a bit of him looks like a worse version Frankie Gavin. kell would win easy.

If it's not Dan I can't see a big fight for Kell until end of the year unless Eddie wants to pay very good step aside money
