If Briggs gets the Klitschko fight we must give him credit
He really is a good salesman, let's be honest Briggs isn't even a top 20 ranked heavyweight no more, he has beat no one half decent in years! yet he looks like he is fighting for the heavyweight title again. Briggs is a clever man, who marketed him self very well, hats of to him.

Best yapper in the HWT division. His big talk earned him a title shot. Also has career in WWE after boxing.
Re: If Briggs gets the Klitschko fight we must give him cred
If Briggs gets the fight I give him zero credit.
It would just show that humans are profoundly stupid, which I already knew.

Shannon Briggs is not an acceptable opponent.
If they can't get Jennings, someone like Lucas Browne or Charles Martin would be better, or even Andy Ruiz Jr.
Klitschko could fight the winner of Glazkov-Cunningham next, or fight Tyson Fury.
There are better options than psychotic old Briggs.

Well said. Briggs is a farce who is very bad for boxing; makes boxing look like wrestling.

Briggs, in his present form, is a horror show for boxing !hurricanemitch14 wrote:briggs far from being bad for boxing idiot. briggs seems like a good guy all this sh-t hes been pulling is for show. hes not the 1st one to do it and wont be the last.
You obviously don't know the difference between a Richard Carmack and an Amir Mansour, or a Cory Philips and a Mike Perez.
They're all boxers, right? Laughing @ U.
Go watch WWE, and then perhaps you can evolve into a Chauncy Welliver fan.

He's a good salesman if he gets the fight or not. The fact we're talking about him at all suggests that. In particular the fact we are mentioning Shannon potentially in the ring with Wlad suggests that.

Re: If Briggs gets the Klitschko fight we must give him cred
Boxing has always looked like wrestling to one degree or another. The most popular boxer in history, Muhammad Ali, stole his whole gimmick from a wrestler which led him to be the most popular boxer in history. Boxing history would look a whole lot different if Ali had been some quiet, humble cat from Louisiana. A third or less of the fans watching Floyd now would be watching Floyd if he was respectful & drove a Prius.Tony1244 wrote: Well said. Good example to bring that up. Ali learned from Gorgeous George. The difference was Ali was following Liston "The Big Ugly Bear" around beating the likes of Henry Cooper and Doug Jones. Briggs is beating the likes of Richard Carmack.
I'd be fine with what Biggs was doing IF he was beating guys like Mansour and Mike Perez.
It's an insult to real boxing fans to demand a title shot when you're beating heavyweights who are not in the top 50.

Oh I know the difference between those opponents, maybe u should look at Foremans comeback opponents among others. I know exactly what Briggs is doing but I don't agree that he's bad for boxing. I mean u act like Briggs is the first and only fighter to do this. Briggs is ripped and will give a game effort and he will get his ass handed to him but I'd rather see him fight Wlad than a fat shit Andy Ruiz or Alex Lepeau.
Its not Briggs' fault that negotiations with Jennings is going to shit. Personally I'd rather see Jennings fight for the title.

Briggs has got a better resume that Mansour lol, Mansour just got his ass kicked by a shopworn cruiser. That is Mansour's only real fighter on his record. Were really impressed that he beat Kassi??? Mansour brings nothing to the table, has beaten nobody his whole career and is a midget. So backing someone like Mansour who's an idiot by the way maybe u should go watch wrestling and then but only then become a Chauncey fanboy.
Perez is coming off a loss too by the way because he came into the biggest fight of his career lookin like a fat ass and ran out of gas by the 3rd rd and held the rest of the fight. but hey ur right Briggs is bad for boxing. I'd rather watch a fighter in his prime come in over weight and make the fight ugly as shit.
Re: If Briggs gets the Klitschko fight we must give him cred
if briggs gets the fight, then boxing faces a real
problem, because champs will be stalked all the
time. haye was already borderline, but this here
must not set an example.
but briggs should and will not get that fight anyways.
he is simply too far behind in rankings.

I actually wish Shannon would get charged with stalking and every time he does something that is breaking the law he would get charged,...I hate the sideshow of this particular experience...

True, most of Foreman's first 15 fights or so in both his careers were Brigg's type opponents now. But Foreman stepped it up a bit before his title fights.
Don't get me wrong, Briggs is doing right is right for Briggs but I do think it's bad for boxing because he simply doesn't deserve a title shot due to his opponents. If he steps it up, and wins, I'll say he deserves a shot. I have nothing against him.
No, I don't think he's the only fighter to do this. I said the same things about Welliver and others.

Ali was talking about being The Greatest way before he did a damn thing in pro boxing. Its a prophecy now with hindsight, but it was hilarious or enraging to fans back then.Tony1244 wrote: Good example to bring that up. Ali learned from Gorgeous George. Shannon is just working his hustle. He's a go getter, not a sit on his hands mfer. I can't hate on a cat for trying to make something happen & he's being funny as sh!t while doing it.

I get it's in the best interests of Shannon and I've enjoyed my share of crap comedy/rasslin etc, but I do think it's bad for boxing as a kid trying to learn the sport doesn't know the difference between beating a Carmack or a Perez

u cant fight guys like Perez every month like Briggs was doing.........Briggs is a former champ, so we know he can fight.....smoking these bums every month is kinda like helping his muscle memory after taking 3 yrs off. If Wlad don't bite after a while Briggs will have to fight someone of note just like Foreman did in his comeback.

Exactly, it's intimidating learning about a new sport, and the few kids today trying to learn about boxing is made more difficult by Briggs acting like he deserves a title shot.

Well what I mean is boxing gots bigger problems than Shannon & Wlad making 2015 Odd Couple videos.Tony1244 wrote:[b]>>ReggieDiggsReggieDiggs wrote:Sh!t brother a kid today can't even tell who the real champion is let alone something further down the boxing food chain.Tony1244 wrote: I get it's in the best interests of Shannon and I've enjoyed my share of crap comedy/rasslin etc, but I do think it's bad for boxing as a kid trying to learn the sport doesn't know the difference between beating a Carmack or a Perez
