this has been a recurring motif in the trade press for years now ie the attempt to redact the fact that Stiverne has 1 defeat and a draw (to very mediocre journeymen) on his record.

Even though your prediction may end up being correct in the distant future, I personally refuse to consider the possibility that a man, whose best victory on his resume came against the astonishingly fragile Audley Harrison, could one day potentially dominate the heavyweight division!

Such a concept seems a tad far-fetched and bizarre to my moderately intelligent mind!

I have to be honest, I may not have the best knowledge of historical heavyweight title challengers, but has there ever been a mandatory opponent that lacks the depth in quality of resume that Wilder does?

I was thinking Leon Spinks, but I don’t think he was a mandatory challenger and his victories (at least on paper) against Scott LeDoux & Alfio Righetti seem to me to be far more impressive than Wilders' best wins?

Wilder destroyed the normally durable Malik Scott in one round, and Deontay did the same to Sergey Lyakhovich who just went the distance with Andy Ruiz and was never stopped so fast.

Deontay is the real deal.

Even if he wins the WBC Title tomorrow night, that doesn't automatically make him a "great heavyweight" - he's had a relatively easy road through thus far... IAnd I don't ranked Stiverne as any sort of great fighter either.

After Deontay Wilder KOs Stiverne, Povetkin, Klitschko and Fury in the next 18 months or so, then you'll all believe in him.

He's going to become one of the really great ones like Louis, Holmes and Ali. He'll even have a great rival in Anthony Joshua, and that will add to his legacy.

I like Wilder, but his technique stinks & he's fighting his first opponent with a pulse, so it's a bit early to potentially bestow greatness upon him.

Lets see how he does against Stiverne & if he passes that test, then lets see how he does against Wladimir.

Forget about Wladimir Klitschko, he only was heavyweight champion because there wasn't a single decent boxer to challenge him. He's far from being a great heavyweight.

But now we have someone who is destined to be WBC champion and the next REALLY great heavyweight: Deontay Wilder!

He will stop Bermane Stiverne and then continue to wipe out all the mediocre heavyweights including Tyson Fury, Alexander Povetkin and the "champion by default" Wladimir Klitschko.

The only one who will present a challenge to him in a couple of years is Anthony Joshua. Otherwise, Wilder will completely dominate.

This must have really hurt you to say that about a black man and to put down a white man in the same sentence, you must be smoking some real good good.
