Very rarely do the media and the judges etc score ALL for the right guy. No CJ Ross last night for the Wilder - Stiverne fight. 42 Media scores with article on the fight
I had it 116-112 Wilder, My full card is on the article.
How did you all score it and was there ANYBODY that scored for Stiverne or had it a draw??

116-112 Wilder
Re: Wilder - Stiverne media scores, punchstats etc
"Official Punch Stats
Wilder = 621 Thrown , 227 Landed , (37 per cent Connect rate)
Stiverne = 527 Thrown , 110 Landed , (34 per cent Connect rate)"
...wonder how they come up with this "Connect rate" ?

Re: Wilder - Stiverne media scores, punchstats etc
I was surprised by the scores. I was ringside and had it 116-112 and the person I was with has been in boxing 50 years and had it 117-111.
Re: Wilder - Stiverne media scores, punchstats etc
I had it 118-110 watching on tv. Fights tend to look different in person. Not against anyone who scored it as such, but I don't see the four rounds Stiverne won for a 116-112 score card, or closer. The first round I thought he won legit was the 6th. I guess if you tried to give him any round possible, you could give him 4. That seems really generous though to me, as if you were looking for him to win.
Re: Wilder - Stiverne media scores, punchstats etc
I gave Stiverne the 6th, 11th, 12th, and another middle round that I can't recall and I don't think I was looking for rounds to give him; perhaps you could tell me how the first three rounds I listed were so clear for Wilder that scoring them the other way indicates bias. Eight-four is also a grand total of two rounds off your score even if you think it's unreasonable for people to give Stiverne rounds that you didn't.armageto wrote:I had it 118-110 watching on tv. I think the fight seemed more one-sided because Wilder won several rounds very convincingly while Stiverne didn't.
