Tyson Fury is as big of a cheater as Klitschko

Post by Chepppaaa »

i rewatched fury-chisora 2.

as soon as chisora came in to box from inside fury put his hands around him, trying an headlock or just holding chisoras arms with his elbows.
consistantly crabing and holding, the ref saying nothing.

that is wrong with boxing. ward, klitschko, mayeather, fury. crabber, holders. this is damn boxing, not wwe or greco roman wrestling. what
is wrong with refs nowadays? crabing and holding is such an big advantage, why not deduct a point? it is not part of boxing if you do it exceivly.
guys like mentioned do it all the time.

the boxing world would be so much better when these wrestlers would get wanred or dq'd. back to original boxing, pure boxing, you get into the ring, you punch your opponent in the face, you try not to get hit by having an footwork and moving your upperbody well and you dont act like a damn wrestler. trust me, boxing would be so much more fun to watch.

That is the problem with heavyweights there is such s gulf in size now that they can do that. They need to add an extra weight like superheavy but maybe do it on height to so there is no way a fat heavy can get up there. To much advantage with the near on 7 foot fighters

It's a bit like the wrestling from corners and free kicks you get in football (or soccer for American forumites). Until referees start being tougher and giving penalties (even if it's ten a game) players are going to do it if they can get an advantage.

Same in boxing, if referee's allow people to hold they will hold.

Although I agree with the OP, holding is a part of boxing, and not just in the heavyweight division. As Ian 1973 says, until the referees crack down on it, boxers will continue to do it. These spoiling tactics are effective, so of course they will do it until they get warned for the last time.

I am not a big fan of Tyson Fury, would like to see him get sparked out by Wilder. Not a huge fan of him either, but I would love to see that grin wiped off the ugly face of Fury.

it is illegal and boring for the public and it is effective, therefore a huge advantage, thats why is hlding crabbing so bad for boxing.

Every sport is littered with actions of cheating. In football (soccer) you have people diving, in American Football you have players grabbing facemasks...holding etc, and sometimes they get away with it. A boxer will do what it takes to win, and if that means for them to hold and grab, then they will do it. Them doing that means less punches in the face, more chance of a win, and more money in their back pockets. In an ideal world the refs would clamp down on it, but until that point it will continue happening.

wlad fought a pretty clean fight against pulev and
fury is not excessive with holding IMO. we must
not forget that even ATGs didn't fight pure all the
time. Ali did not really run a campaign against
excessive grabbing in boxing ...

Its pretty ironic that some people say the illegal tactics that Maidana used vs Floyd I was ok, and not illegal, but what Fury of Wlad does (holding) is illegal? Lets see....holding vs arm twisting, rabbit punches, low blows, head butts, tackling. Sounds about even I guess.
