I saw him groveling around Barry Hearn at the Eastman/Richard Williams fight at York Hall. Hearn looked like he wanted to get away from him, and was jokingly throwing his hands up saying "no more fights! No more fights!"

He was very good the year he won the ABA's he stopped some good fighters - wasn't Robert McCracken robbed in the semi finals though?

It was a majority decision at Gloucester in the ABA quarter-finals. McCracken was the better boxer as Carew swung away and was made to miss. McCracken probably paid the price for his encounter with Geoff McCreesh 11 days earlier when a few of his Birmingham City clubmates triggered some ugly scenes.
