Yunier Dorticos vs Murat Gassiev

Post by Boxing Writer »

Yunier Dorticos (18-0, 17 KO) vs Murat Gassiev (19-0, 13 KO) on February 27 in the Fantasy Springs Casino, Indio, California.

Excellent matchup between two up and coming fighters. I actually rank them just behind Usyk and Kudryashov among the best Cruiserweight prospects in the world.

They are throwing young Gassiev to the wolves.

Dorticos have a very deep amateur background and is age 28. He's fought better opposition as a pro than Gassiev and has won nearly all his fights by KO.

Gassiev is just age 21 and had far fewer amateur fights.

Dorticos would be a good opponent for Gassiev in a couple of years, but not now. He's not ready.

I think Gassiev has a good chance to win this fight. He is well developed for his age and can punch. And Dorticos may have questionable chin as he was stopped at least 3 times in the amateurs and knocked down by Eric Fields in the pros.
