I think the argument against that is subscribers - not particularly hardcore fans - would be decidedly unimpressed at the cheapo production values and rivals like sky would be clearly streets ahead on the quality front. Personally I'd be happy with it.

In reply to hitman, yes 3 upcoming uk shows are great but I don't think it is enough. When the channel launched we were told it's two live shows a week with loads of domestic coverage. It would be fair to say sky actually cover more of the domestic scene than BN mainly because Eddie has got most of the top domestic fighters.

As a die-hard fan I'd still subscribe if they went down to one show a month but I would personally like to see more. I sky-plus the middle of the night shows to watch the next day and at the moment it seems for my twelve quid a month I'm getting one show a week which I can't even record in HD so the HD upgrade is not good value...

Could do similar with some amateur shows, WSB is on BT Sport, but when there's an international match up, England v whoever, sort out a deal with them to send a couple of cameras along and film it. Could get some quality amateurs on the channel at a reasonable price.

Instead of the constant repeats i'd like to see more magazine type shows, behind the ropes style docs etc

Boxing Matters, Bunce and Kugan once a week each is not enough for the money imo

BN needs some more British shows otherwise I'm going to cancel, can't be that hard to pick up a few small hall shows each month to show ? It's getting to the stage where it needs some decent stuff or there is no reason to subscribe

Personally I think the channel is a joke. I've have spent loads on subscriptions and had nothing but nightmares with it due to my location with is still borderline UK/Norway.

I mean I despise allegedly, but you can't really hate this channel. It will continue until the other channels decide the foreogn cards are worth it. Let's be honest, nobody buys this channel for the domestic cards.

How about filming all the undercard fights that aren't shown at the shows they have on live and showing them midweek!

I agree,I'd like to see more fighter being profiled ala day in the life style.lets have some insight in to the fighters life during camps etc.always facinating to see how different fighters prepare.

Why would it save money to put it on tape delay.... Surely it would be cheaping to have 1 fixed camera and a few budding commentators/presentors/interviwers looking to further their career!

Wouldn't surprise me either, they've pumped a lot of money into Formula 1, with a dedicated channel, looks likely that they'll pick up the Open at the end of the current deal with the BBC. They've lost the Champions League and will probably bid big next time round to get it back and in the meantime the Premier League rights from 2016 have gone out to bidding, they can't afford to lose those games otherwise they'll see a huge loss in subscriptions. Boxing is already pretty low down the priority list, is difficult and unpredictable to deal with, doesn't bring in many subscriptions, if they can't make PPV work regularly, they might decide to pull boxing altogether.

It's a lot cheaper to film something, save the footage onto a memory card, take it back to HQ, edit it a bit and play the tape, than it is to send out a broadcast truck, beam it via satellite and put it out live. If they already have the cameras and aren't hiring them on a show by show basis, then it isn't going to cost much to send out a few cameramen and film it, bring it back and show it.

That's right, boxing does have quiet periods; you've got to take the rough with the smooth; over the 12 months the channel is far better value for boxing fans than sky sports.

At the moment it looks like Frank is putting his fighters on big, packed shows, presumably the thinking is that shows like that will attract more subscribers than small hall shows with a title fight and a load of prospects in 4, 6 and 8 rounders as the undercard. As it is, his big shows are starting to get too full and it's likely we'll see the odd fighter pulled away from them to headline their own, smaller shows. Starting to see it already with the York Hall shows, he has too many London fighters to put on one show, so he's having to put two shows on to get them all out. Ovill Mckenzie-Matty Askin is in Widnes, presumably in the leisure centre there, likely because there's no space on the Liverpool show. Plenty of other options too, Norwich for Liam Walsh, Wales with Enzo and Liam Williams and if Mathews and Butler both win, they'll probably defend the titles on separate shows.
