The 02 Card this weekend
Re: The 02 Card this weekend
People moan about big names fighting no marks, then you get two complete 50/50 fights and people still moan you can't win haha.

Should those two really be the best bouts on a show at The O2 live on Sky though? Maybe The York Hall on Fight Pass and they'd get credit.WelshJack wrote:People moan about big names fighting no marks, then you get two complete 50/50 fights and people still moan you can't win haha.

The show is aright without being anything great but with the draught of domestic boxing I`m looking forward to it.The Joshua fight being off has diminished it some what but the logic behind this card was sound and if he does end up around 6000 in attendance then that`s a very respectable number for this show with the Joshua pull out.

Re: The 02 Card this weekend
The entire 02 isn't being opened so trying to make out like it should be the same quality as Froch v Kessler is pushing it slightly. Mitchell's in with a guy who had a really good fight with Figueroa. The scorecards may have been wide when he got stopped but it was a real war. Is Mitchell way better than Figueroa? Right so is the fight a total mismatch?
Re: The 02 Card this weekend
John Ryder's opponent is decent too I don't think it's a bad card maybe lacks one more top name which would've been AJ, but still fairly decent. His cards are getting a lot better for even match ups recently (forget the PPV)
Re: The 02 Card this weekend
It's an okay card in my opinion.
Nothing looks particularly appealing and the quality of what seems like the most competitive matchups is relatively low (the main thing I'd like to see on future cards is top boxers in evenly matched bouts), but at least there are fights which seem like they'll be competitive and I prefer those to a world champions or ultra-hyped prospect predictably outclassing soft opponents. I had Estrada down 6-2 against Figueroa but it was an entertaining bout and he gave Figueroa a tough night, and I won't be surprised if the same is true of his fight with Mitchell, who last time out was unanimously losing after ten rounds against a fairly inexperienced opponent who is arguably no better than Estrada.

Going on Saturday. Bit gutted about the Joshua fight being off but still looking forward to a decent night of boxing. Not been for a little while now so be glad to see some live fights again. Should still be a decent crowd I saw Hibert had done 600 tickets himself. Got ours through Boylan don't know how many he has done this time but he normally does good numbers himself. So attendance should still be good. Not been in the o2 when its set up for a smaller crowd though so be interested to see how it works.

Thank god the cuz the Froch Kessler undercard was shitjameswilson wrote:The entire 02 isn't being opened so trying to make out like it should be the same quality as Froch v Kessler is pushing it slightly. As its a big arena show (regardless how many its open for that just goes on what tickets they sell believe me if they could have shifted the tickets this card would have been open fully too) I do believe it could do with 1 or 2 more big names (after Joshua pulled out) but not gonna knock it, much prefer this type of card than the usual stacked card of names but in nothing fights.
Its a shame Matchroom seem to go either way in the extremes, either their fringe fighters in good fights but no real names or their star fighters in pointless matches. If they mixed them type of fights up a bit more it would be better.
