Re: Oldest living Heavyweight Title Challenger??
I reckon you're right. The second oldest would be Roy Harris - if he is still with us.

He fought Floyd Paterson, who was, I believe, 33 -1 at the time, in his very first fight. In his second fight he faced Zora Folley. They put him in with the wolves right away.
Max Schmeling is no longer with us, but he passed away just four months short of his hundredth birthday in 2005.

i know he didnt fight for the title....but as far as i am aware...carmine vingo, who fought marciano is still alive in florida.....but of course i wouldn't know for sure.
Re: Oldest living Heavyweight Title Challenger??
I had heard he was still alive and relatively fit. This was a few months back mark you. He must be late 80's early 90's?? Considering the trauma of the Marciano fight it is remarkable.doug.ie wrote:i know he didnt fight for the title....but as far as i am aware...carmine vingo, who fought marciano is still alive in florida.....but of course i wouldn't know for sure.
