Macklin fighting again?!

Post by seanilius »

So he's going to fight on the Gavin bill in Brum. Seriously?! The guy got knocked out badly in his last fight and looked a shadow of his former self in doing so. He's taken a fair few beatings over the years.
Surely Jermain Taylor's latest exploits would serve as a warning to all involved.
Is it just me who thinks that it's mental he's fighting again?

I read an article about this. He felt in his last fight fight he was either:

1. Jaded and tired after back to back training camps and on again, off again fights.

OR

2. He just doesn't have it anymore.

He's fighting to see what he has left and will call it a day if he feels he doesn't have it anymore. I think that's fair enough.

Hopefully he retires whatever the outcome. Should enjoy his retirement in good health.

Or Eddie has begged him, promised him an easy opponent to go out on a win against in exchange for selling tickets?

Just be nice to see Matt sign-off with a win and in front of a hometown crowd.....he deserves it.

Think he would have been better off calling it a day after the GGG fight myself but he's a smart lad who has always made his own decisions...so hopefully he'll have a good night in Brum.

Hometown crowd? Surely he's Irish? At least that's what he wants everyone to think.
