askin v mckenzie
askin v mckenzie
This fight is top of the bill in widnes,on the 14th march
The British and commonwealth titles are on the line.
It look like it could be a cracking fight.
I'd like to hear your thought on the outcome.cheers Dave

Re: askin v mckenzie
Good fight for me. McKenzie is very very dangerous in the early rounds or gasses. Fancy going over if not will watch live on BN.
Re: askin v mckenzie
Matty will either get laid out or get beat handily on points.
Re: askin v mckenzie
If Askin's defence is tight and he makes it out of the first 4 or 5 rounds relatively unscathed, he'll win the fight. If McKenzie can find his chin, especially early on, it's all over. Askin on points/late stoppage or Ovill early on for me.

This will be over in 2 rounds for The Upsetter. Easy money.
Re: askin v mckenzie
Askin isn't chinny,he's only been stopped once and that was to the body. He's waited a long time for this chance and I hope he takes it,hopefully he will get some good support coming over from Blackpool. And the new!

Re: askin v mckenzie
I like Askin he's a good fighter with good power but I think McKenzie will catch him within 5 and I don't think he has the resistance to take Ovill's power early,if Matty can avoid any early bombs and make it to halfway stage then he has the punch to hurt McKenzie late on whereas Ovill's power seems to fade
I'm glad to see Askin finally get his shot a title(s) he's been knocking on the door of the domestic scene for while

I think you're going to see a new matty askin come March.
He's been working with, mike Jennings for 18 months now up in Chorley.
Hes matured as a fighter and has been looking great in camp.
Roll on the 14th..and the new.

Re: askin v mckenzie
It's askin' a lot of Matty to win this fight but should be a good spectacle. Be nice to see Ovill go on a nice run and earn some coin; he's been a good servant to the game.
He's in a tough division though and Rakhiev the current european champion is a handful

Re: askin v mckenzie
McKenzie is hitting very, very hard at CW so my head says stoppage for the upsetter. My gut says we might see Askin nick it on points.
Re: askin v mckenzie
Both are beatable at British title level, but McKenzie's recent impressive form must make him a solid favourite.

Good fight, will be an interesting one. McKenzie early or Askin late is the obvious thing to say, but I suspect it will be accurate on this occasion.

Both lads already have defeats to British level boxers.DAVE2005 wrote:THEBUTCH wrote:Both are beatable at British title level, but McKenzie's recent impressive form must make him a solid favourite.

He's only fought five times as a Cruiser (and three of those were three rounders) but he's stopped Corbett, Conquest, Dickenson.DAVE2005 wrote:hes only stopped 2 cruisers aswell and witH a ko percentage of 34% isnt the big puncher in this fight. askin 52%
54% so that must mean Askin is a bigger puncher then McKenzie
Look at the difference in opposition.
