Garcia vs Maidana, who would win?

Post by PsychoGamerTwo »

If Garcia is looking like shit, like he did against Herrera, and Maidana brings his A game.

Who wins?

I think you answered your own question with the details. This is like asking who wins back in the 90's Riddick Bowe or Lennox Lewis & Lewis gots a broken leg & Bowe ate 2 bowls of Wheaties the morning of the fight.

All things being equal I like Danny. Danny keeps finding ways to win & I think he tends to fight to the level of his opponent. That being the case I think Danny brings HIS A game. Fun fight whatever were to happen, hope we see it.

i thought garcia would get pummeled by matthysse. i thought wrong.
sure, the herrera scoring was generous and the salka fight was just a payday, but
until i see someone rise to the occasion and get the w vs garcia, i'm not going to
join in on this "dude's gonna get stomped" chorus, especially considering maidana
couldn't ko khan and then lost to alexander. people are putting too much stock in
chino's two losses to mayweather and the win over broner. i think this is more
wishful thinking than track record.

Herrera did just that, he just didn't get the decision.

Kinda agree with most of what you are saying and I'm not knocking Garcia, he is a world class fighter and dangerous, I just don't go along with the notion that 'he always finds a way to win'. He really didn't find a way to win against Herrera and didn't have an answer that night. He was just lucky enough to be the marquee fighter and get a decision he didn't deserve.... I think he'd beat Maidana though in a fairly exciting fight.

I'm not sure that Maidana has the boxing skills of Herrera though he did do well vs Floyd, I believe that Marcos will win it by KO because Danny gets hit too much and Chino is a rough dude that will be coming forward the entire night.

I'd sure love to see this fight if it ever materializes but somehow I don't think we'll ever get to see these two mix it up.

el chino is my favourite fighter but i fear his time has come. He will now be wearing silk PJs after his 2 fights with floyd, and i would expect garcia to take this..

would be rooting for maidana, and this would be a top fight.

If Maidana has the same hunger he normally does, and that good jab, I bet he stops Danny. Garcia relies on his chin and strength, I think Marcos is equal or better in both areas. Plus been at 147 awhile now while Danny would be just getting there. Garcia won't bully many guys at 147 like he does at 140

I'm not sure I would bet against Garcia, as he always seems to find a way to win, but think it would be a very close fight. Garcia has yet to fight at 147, so talk about this fight is probably premature, and at least a year away.

Maidana doesn't seem too motivated to fight just anyone, but am pretty sure he would jump at a Pac or Khan fight...even Canelo.

Also, isn’t it a bit premature to write-off Danny Garcia on the back of one poor day at the office? After all, he’s only 26 years old and he’s already beaten the likes of Amir Khan, Lucas Matthysse, Erik Morales (twice) and Zab Judah… during the course of a five fight run.
Definitely early to write off Danny. This is boxing fans discussing it though so not unusual at all. "Lose once, you suck. Lose twice, you're a bum & should just retire before you get killed in the ring."

I mention it over & over, so even I feel it gets repetitive, but I really do feel like Danny raises or lowers his game based on his opponent. He's pretty much looked like two different cats based on the level of opposition, the level of the challenge expected since he's gotten to this elite level he's at.

I think Danny is basically moving to 147 officially at any time so I don't really think anyone's expecting this at under 147. I certainly wasn't going on the fight being at 140 or 143 with my comments.

BS, Danny doesn't raise or lower his game depending on his opponents, if that was the case then he would've fared well vs Herrera but even Stevie Wonder can see he lost that fight.

If Garcia comes into the ring at 40% and Maidana comes at 110%, who wins? I guess the only way the answer to that question would be Garcia is if Garcia was three times as good as Maidana.

Garcia wins without a doubt. Showed good abilities against Matthysee who was another big and crude puncher.
