Clever in one sense ( he's already landed a mandatory title shot and has earned decent money and will get the payday that comes with the title shot ) but stupid in another ( as you say, leaves him totally unprepared for someone like Wlad )

Looking through his record it's clear as day that he has been kept away from anyone deemed to have even decent power. I hope that's just a cocincidence!

There are a couple of million reasons why that's different. They've taken the path of least resistance with Tyson and got him where they have. I understand why the purists complain about soft matchmaking but if they'd thrown him in with bangers would he be on the cusp of a title shot and the huge payday that goes with it?

Possibly, yes. He's got up to stop whoever put him down. Who are these huge bangers he should have been put in with? Please don't say Price because Fury's chin and heart are infinitely better than his. Price would lose that fight at the press conference.

There's a reason why he pulled out of the Price fight when it was ordered. Too much risk, not enough reward. The risk being getting knocked spark out. Can't blame him for that. Since then Price has been exposed to a degree ( plenty of us already knew his chin was weak ) but even now, when Fury would be a big favourite, it wouldn't happen ( he's not on the same level etc...oh and Hammer is? )

As mentioned above, it's savvy to only entertain a 'banger' when it's financially rewarding. Still doesn't ignore the fact they have yet to eye up a fight with a 'puncher'. I'm hoping it's a coincidence but it's unlikely to be. Tyson himself would fight anybody, of that I have no doubt. His team are a little 'safer' though.
