Barry Hearn needs to step in to help Eddie...
Eddie is struggling badly and failing to deliver in anything big sadly..Before some of the usual suspects such as James Wilson come on to try to laugh me off the forum (even though I've made a fool of him & others retrospectively on so many occasions by pretty much always being proven correct of my criticisms of fast car and my views that he can't make big fights etc) I'm not going the usual route to try to bash Eddie but I'm just trying to find suggestions on how the big fights that we are all desperate to see can take place.
Just by this latest 'twitter beef' between Eddie & George Groves fast car has still not learned his lesson with how to treat big name fighters and their egos especially as he badly needs them so he can deliver on his remit to his fighters and also sky who clearly want PPVs and big fights etc.
it's no coincidence that Khan, Frampton/Mcguigan, Groves, even the Eubanks Etc none of them seem to even like Eddie which makes negotiations almost impossible in fact he winds all 3 of the formers up completely- Eubank Snr refused to deal with him & only wanted to consider working with Matchroom through Barry.
Eddie possibly mainly due to his upbringing which obviously isn't his 'fault' lacks the natural ability of his dad & the Warren's etc to deal with these fighters and do what is necessary to get the job done...it might be that touch of working class stock that enabled Barry & Frank two classic examples of that era to hustle and fight their way up through the old establishment right to the top-both have a ruthless Streak as we all know and both have that ability to charm their way to getting what they want. Eddie is brilliant in a marketing sense and the work he has done delivering boxing across the UK at that particular level is fantastic but he can't get things done with the big boys.
Back to my original point..even if
It's privately we need Barry to step in
And sort out the fights as George suggested to Eddie in the twitter exchanges. Eddie can still be the public face for the media for the negotiations but let Barry get the actual business done FFS.

You haven't made a fool of me. You made a fool of yourself with your last dialogue going more or less to the tune of (not direct quotes):
Hitman - I'll bet anyone that these fights don't get made.
Parson Cross - OK I'll take that bet with you.
Hitman - Oh......I'd love to be proven wrong. Wahhhh.'
and
Hitman - 'Wilson you think Bob Arum was gonna allow Chavez v Froch? Trust me I know people. *Taps nose*'
Parson Cross - 'Bob Arum was onside, the fight was gonna get made until Froch's injury.'
Hitman - 'Oh.....well I'd love to be proven wrong. Wahhhhh.'

Lol if you or Parsons etc want to make a bet I'm down with that - not a problem.jameswilson wrote:You haven't made a fool of me. You made a fool of yourself with your last dialogue going more or less to the tune of:

It all went abit quiet on that thread funnily enough as later that evening when we where all going at it not only did Froch get 'injured' ten minutes later Chavez announced that had reached a deal to fight Fonfara
Also since that thread Framptons announced he's on ITV next, and Khan is still saying no chance for Brook this summer meaning it won't happen till next year when Hearn etc would want it outdoors to maximize income..but yeah If you still want to take the bet as I said happy to oblige..

I fail to see how he is struggling. Fair enough he isnt popluar with hardcore boxing fans, but thats not his job. His job is to make as much money for himself and his fighters as possible. No one can deny he isnt doing that.
I mean getting more than 10 people to buy the Bellew vs Cleverly PPV would deserve an induction to the hall of fame. I wouldnt pay 50p to watch that fight but hundreds of thousands of people payed £15, if that isnt wonderful promoting i dont know what is.
Re: Barry Hearn needs to step in to help Eddie...
No one is capable of keeping everybody happy and getting on with everyone in boxing. Even Warren with his 'working class stock' has had more than his fair share of high profile fall outs and court cases. Frampton (my favourite fighter) was always going to go with McGuigan, Groves has looked piss poor post Froch so far and the Eubanks would give a bloody aspirin a sore head! Hearn is doing a decent job and I'm sure his dad is never far away in the background regardless.Manchester Hitman wrote:Eddie is struggling badly and failing to deliver in anything big sadly..Before some of the usual suspects such as James Wilson come on to try to laugh me off the forum (even though I've made a fool of him & others retrospectively on so many occasions by pretty much always being proven correct of my criticisms of fast car and my views that he can't make big fights etc) I'm not going the usual route to try to bash Eddie but I'm just trying to find suggestions on how the big fights that we are all desperate to see can take place.

I know, it's amazing isn't it. I'll let Parson take the bet with you as he's the one who actually has a damn clue out of you, me and him.

Please don't make me have to humiliate you again mate...your version of the last conversation in particular is completely inaccurate. also let's think about what's being said...your essentially saying Eddie Hearn had managed to do what no other person/organisation in US boxing like GBP/HBO/
SHO etc couldn't do and get two of the most powerfull men in boxing who are in the middle of a major political feud...Bob Arum & Al Haymon to strike a deal to allow Froch-Chavez to take place..is that really what you and Parsons are saying???
Maybe somebody should suggest to the Americans that Eddie takes over the negotiations to get Mayweather - Pac signed and sealed...it would appear Eddie is the only one who can get the job done
And again what is your explanation for how the Fanfara fight was announced in lighting quick time??

Because the day Froch's injury was announced was not the day he actually injured his arm. Chavez's guys thus had a reasonable period of time For terms to be agreed with Fonfara.
Ultimately I don't come on here claiming really to know anything or be in the know in any way. You do. That's why people view you as a non entity, and me just as some other poster.
The thread in question is right here. http://boxrec.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=188457 People can read page 1 and decide who the one looking like a berk is with their 'oh sh1t, someones taken me up on the bet. Best go with the old 'I'd love to be proven wrong, lets bump the thread' line.'

He can sell a fight, but to sell a fight, he actually has to make it first and that's where he's struggling. Frampton-Quigg, Groves-DeGale II, Khan-Brook, doesn't seem to be having much success with those. Right now the biggest fight he can make is Campbell-Coyle and even that looks doubtful at the moment.bluenoseshf wrote:Manchester Hitman wrote:Eddie is struggling badly and failing to deliver in anything big sadly..Before some of the usual suspects such as James Wilson come on to try to laugh me off the forum (even though I've made a fool of him & others retrospectively on so many occasions by pretty much always being proven correct of my criticisms of fast car and my views that he can't make big fights etc) I'm not going the usual route to try to bash Eddie but I'm just trying to find suggestions on how the big fights that we are all desperate to see can take place.

Are you dumb read what I've posted again...I have credited Hearn for his work with domestic level shows around the UK and his excellent marketing skills which are undoubtedly his key strength..I started off saying that I want matchroom to succeed with making the big fights happen but he simply cannot get them to the negotiating table let alone get them signed hence why I want Snr to step in.DMA1987 wrote:Such an awful poster. Re: Barry Hearn needs to step in to help Eddie...
Whether he's biased or not, what he's saying is true, Hearn is making a mess of putting the big fights together, his only tactic seems to be to slag the other fighter off, or get his fighter to do it, if that doesn't work, he doesn't seem to know what to do. Getting into a slanging match with Groves over twitter isn't going to help him make a fight between him and DeGale.DMA1987 wrote:Such an awful poster.
