Best combination puncher in the UK?
Best combination puncher in the UK?
I loved the combinations Mitchell was throwing Saturday night albeit against a slow opponent. It got me thinking who throws the best combinations in the UK? This should split opinions as it depends what you like watching, but for me I'd say Khan for speed and Frampton for accuracy at the moment.

Paul Butler
Tom Stalker looks like he puts his shots together well?

Yafai could be up there if he proves it against better opposition.
Re: Best combination puncher in the UK?
Brook puts shots together really well.
Re: Best combination puncher in the UK?
I would have to agree with J McDonnell..... although for me, more of the non punchers put together better combinations
Re: Best combination puncher in the UK?
Butler combines speed with accuracy. Frampton is a good shout, Quigg is underrated.

We've a lot of good combination punchers here at the moment,Liam Williams,Billy Joe Saunders,Bradley Saunders,Callum Smith,Stephen Smith,Terry Flanagan,Anthony Crolla,Josh Warrington
Out of the ones I've mentioned,Williams is my favorite at the moment, hopefully he can look just as good when he steps up a level,he's Commonwealth LMW champ now so hopefully we can see him in some cracking scraps this year
Tyson Fury is a very underated combo puncher, probably the best in the division

Stephen Smith, Crolla and Mitchell & Khan have some really classy moves and throw intelligent combinations. Some of Mitchell's defence against the ropes was brilliant.

The answer for my money is khan, but AJ looks good for a heavy granted against limited oppo, buts it's good to see him letting his hands go
Re: Best combination puncher in the UK?
Forgot about Swifty and Crolla. They definitely throw some classy combinations.palooka wrote:Stephen Smith, Crolla and Mitchell & Khan have some really classy moves and throw intelligent combinations. Some of Mitchell's defence against the ropes was brilliant.
Re: Best combination puncher in the UK?
Degale throws great effective combinations, jack caterall up and coming and picks his shots well, amir Khan an obvious choice
Re: Best combination puncher in the UK?
Jamie Cox used to be good, Akash Bhatia was really good as well, Ola Afolabi throws monster combinations.

Just for the record, I think McDonnell is a terrible combination puncher. Never plants his feet. Throws arm punches. Terrible accuracy.sammy95 wrote:I would have to agree with J McDonnell..... although for me, more of the non punchers put together better combinations
Re: Best combination puncher in the UK?
Liam Walsh is a very good combination puncher, he mixes the power punches up well too; he'd be a nightmare to box.
Re: Best combination puncher in the UK?
Cleverly showed a good range of pawing jab combos against Bellew
Re: Best combination puncher in the UK?
Yep, it's probably his biggest stand-out ability.handsofstone wrote: Tyson Fury is a very underated combo puncher, probably the best in the division

Kell brook doesn't miss too often when he throws a combo.
