This would be a bad move as they will be competing with Alvarez/Kirkland. As I stated on another thread, Oscar will only change his date if Floyd faces Manny.fergusg wrote:"Showtime exec: Backup bout in place for Floyd Mayweather if no Manny Pacquiao deal"

"Mayweather will face either Miguel Cotto or Amir Khan on May 2 if the Pacquiao talks collapse."
Therefore, be prepared to hear an announcement from Showtime within the next two weeks confirming Floyd’s next opponent as Amir Khan, Miguel Cotto or Manny Pacquiao.
The easiest fight to make, from a political and legal perspective, is for Mayweather to face Khan, which may be the key factor when deciding his next opponent, because the clock is ticking and an announcement for the promotion of his next contest must be made by the week commencing the 16th February.

Just when I thought the 'saga' of who Mayweather Jr is fighting next couldn't get anymore tedious.
At this rate, he'll be announcing that his next opponent is either his ego or his wallet!

The plan all along was Floyd vs. Cotto 2. Haymon secured Cotto in Dec. Cotto will throw another decision to Floyd.
There is no chance in hell Floyd and Haymon would lose to Cotto for $32m when they can lose to Pacquiao for $200m.
Floyd vs. Cotto 2 will be a fix. Cotto will take the bonus, go soft on Floyd, then still have the Canelo payday for Sept. Business. Not sport. Business.

At least $200m for two Pacquiao-Floyd fights.
Do you really think two corrupt businessmen like Floyd and Haymon would risk losing to Cotto for $32m when they can lose to Pac twice for $200m?
Only an imbecile would. Floyd and Haymon will do anything to hold power. Canelo was a fix, so was Wilder-Scott. And only an imbecile would think Floyd and Haymon would stop there.

Pacquiao
Cotto II
Khan
I'd be interested to see any of the above 3.

How so was Canelo a fix? What kind of sense does that make?montrealsuper wrote:At least $200m for two Pacquiao-Floyd fights.

I'm going to tell you how it was NOT a fix and then you can explain in your own lame ass terms why you believe it was a fix.
NOT A FIX:
If Canelo wins, he immediately goes into the driver's seat and gets to make and take the Lion's share of the money, so again, remind of us of why would Oscar agree to a fix of one of his fighters vs a guy he hates in Floyd when he knows that if his fighter wins that he could make more money the next time around?
Notice there was no rematch, do you think if Canelo would've won that there would have been a rematch?
How f*cking dumb are you, really??

the whole point of a mayweather cotto-fight is for the 160 title. if mayweather takes the title from
cotto then there is no canelo fight for cotto, and mayweather is not going to be defending that
160lb title vs canelo. none of them will be fighting each other in may at 154. that makes no sense.
Re: Stephen Espinoza: Floyd to face Miguel Cotto or Amir Kha
Would Pacquiao be willing to fight Cotto at 154.5? That is the only way that fight is happening. Since Roach trains them both I really doubt we will see it. I would love to see him fight Khan, but would guess he will fight another Rios/Algieri type in house fighter. (Jesse Vargas) The thing is, Vargas may be a tougher fight than most think.Ricky_ wrote:Pacquiao

I was talking about any of those 3 vs Mayweather (and that wast he order i want to see them in). I make Floyd an underdog vs Pacquiao, 55/45 vs Cotto in the 155+ range and the Khan one is the hardest to guage how it would go. Possibly 60/40 vs Khan but i wouldn't be surprised if Khan boxed his ears off or if he knocked Khan out, curve ball fight.

Re: Stephen Espinoza: Floyd to face Miguel Cotto or Amir Kha
If you can remember, Floyd clearly was resisting and did not want to fight Canelo at first, using excuses about how big Canelo is. But after Guerrero lost millions he had to recoup the losses for Showtime. ( No chance Floyd was going to fight Pac/Arum. ) Haymon/Espinoza controlled Canelo and they rigged a deal. Then Floyd suddenly stopped complaining about how big Canelo is and they made the fight.
Oscar knew what was up and didn't bother to show up or promote it, claimed he went to rehab seven days before the biggest fight in Golden Boy history. LOL. JC Chavez Sr. didn't bother to show up either for the biggest fight in Mexican history. He knew the script.
Canelo didn't show up either. He boxed passively, showing no urgency or aggression, just plodding and telegraphed pot shots from outside. Easy and perfect sparring for Floyd. Canelo's corner said NOTHING to him before the last round or any round. It was a sparring session. Watch Canelo's intensity vs. Floyd and compare to his other fights.
Canelo is young and could afford to throw the fight for the easy $5m bonus Haymon gave him. It was more important to Haymon to keep Floyd as his unbeaten crown jewel. Canelo's day will come, he can afford to lose a fixed fight. Floyd can't.
Malignaggi told us about the power and influence of Haymon: "Al Haymon can manipulate anything. What Al haymon wants Al Haymon gets."
Canelo was rewarded and got a PPV date as his next fight after tanking to Floyd and Haymon.

Here is the link about Haymon fixing Canelo.
Haymon's lawyers tried to sue to have the story pulled but the site owner refused because he knows his source is legit and the story is still up to this day. And this gossip site does huge #s if you look at the alexa ranking.
http://diaryofahollywoodstreetking.com/ ... own-hands/
The site owner revealed that Haymon then settled with the transvestite to not the sell the story any where else.
Clearly it's a true story. And it all makes sense. Floyd is Haymon's top priority and crown jewel, not Canelo. And you better believe Floyd don't want any REAL rematch with a unfixed Canelo. And haymon knows he can't buy off Canelo a second time.

It would seem like nonsense.
But you don't know Al Haymon or the world he comes from.

montrealsuper is the dumbest, most delusional guy/girl on this entire site. I admit Ricky and BNovelist give him/her a run at times, but I would guess that if the mods banned anyone for sheer stupidity, all three would be banned for life.fergusg wrote:That's pretty funny for a fictional trolling effort! What a lot of sh.t Doesn't matter what anyone sais about Cotto the fact is he would never take a dive or go easy on any other fighter especially Floyd, beating Floyd would PUT COTTO NAME ON EVERY FIGHT FANS LIPS FOR YEARS TO COME DEFINE HIS CAREER.montrealsuper wrote:The plan all along was Floyd vs. Cotto 2.
