People forget Stiverne only beat one half way decent fighter in Arreola who was beating pretty bad the second fight. Short fighter versus short fighter. Sconiers had Wilder completely out of it for most of a round. Granted he is one of my favorites but I think USS Cunningham would out point Wilder too. His shot is to land a haymaker versus Fury or Cunningham. Poventkin probably knocks out Wilder most any night. I would bring Wilder along carefully for a few more years.
Let us first hear about how much of a solid elite fighter Cunningham is? Seriously? Tell us how Cunningham would out point Wilder, and how him getting slapped upside the head and KO'd by Fury makes you think he would withstand a real punch by Wilder?

Dude, you need to quit going on about what you think (heart), and maybe start thinking with your head. Smart money.

Anyway "MAKE THE DAMN FIGHT!"
Yea I thought Tyson showed some skills in that Chisora rematch that he hasn't shown in awhile or at all.

This is a close fight as far as who'd be favored imho. Pick em or either having a slight edge.

Even though Deontay has the best, highest caliber W in my book (Bermane) I think he's the far more unproven guy as Tyson has had more fights with "living, breathing" opponents on the other side of the ring. I was impressed with Deontay's whiskers/ability to not get hit vs Bermane although I think its arguable that could have been attributable to Deontay's athleticism & Bermane's "eh" boxing IQ/adaptability. You can list many strikes against either guy tbqh & thats probably a large part why it'd be interesting to see.
Dont get me wrong, I thought Wilder boxed well against Stiverne, but I thought both were out of gas after round 7.

Stiverne looked lacklustre (some of that of course due to Wilder) and the subsequent dehydration thing may explain his lack of energy and will to win.

I think Wilder - Fury is an even fight; there is every chance Wilder would clock Tyson early (he often gets caught early going, though so far has bound back). But Wilder looks vulnerable too with his super skinny legs.

Fury has shown his heart many times and he's a big b@stard who can punch. He also maintains his stamina. He's an emotional guy, and so is erratic, and when he does t train well he can look awful. But every time he's trained hard he's looked good.

I live this fight, hope it happens. Imagine the build up! Fury speaks his mind.

If the fight got made, I think the bookies would open with Wilder favourite and Fury a 2/1 bet. I would consider that value but the right line probably at this point.

It's not a fight I would bet my house on, too many possibilities!

Wilder shutting out Stiverne, gives a broader view of what he can do--- however, it makes one question just how good was Stiverne to begin with, when Wilder got shook up by Firtha not long before. It also isn't much of a contest, when one man is nearly a foot shorter than the other. Etc.

That's why I love the idea of a Fury contest. Fury would be the slightly taller, and heavier man in that ring. And despite Wilder having a belt--- I do tend to believe he still has more to prove, than Fury. Tyson has proved that he can hit the canvas and get back up to win via kayo. Wilder hasn't demonstrated this. Tyson has proved he can be a masterful boxer--- he didn't even get out of first gear against Chisora in the rematch and made the man submit due to jabs ffs. Wilder never displayed such abilities until now. Fury for being nearly 7' in height shows great ring generalship and lateral movement, and he is calm under pressure. Wilder hasn't demonstrated any of these things.

Because Fury is bigger, taller, longer in reach, etc. this forces Wilder to turn it into a dog fight. And I think Fury is dangerous when hurt. He's an under-rated body puncher. I can see the two of them brutalizing eachother over the first few rounds, and both men start gassing. Tyson turns it into a boxing match--- Wilder eats jabs and occasional power punches. I think Fury takes it by decision, if not a late TKO.

Wilders team is smart and can recognize Fury's limitations. While not without some risk, of all the current taller guys in the HW rankings with a recognizable name, Fury's weak chin and porous defense make him the lowest risk matchup for Wilder. Add to that his promotional flair, and Fury looks like a near perfect next step for Wilder.

And it should be an entertaining fight.

Fury is a coward but he may just finally take a risk in fighting someone of size because Wilder is a much easier route to a belt than Wlad.

Wilder sparks Fury flat out inside 1 round.

Better watch Wilder vs Harold Sconiers. Oh wait, it has been taken down. Timber, he was out for most of a round. Did not take a punch well. He is not ready for Fury, but it would be a fun fight. My pick would be Fury outboxing him and winning on points. Fury has improved a lot and is pretty good when he is in shape (which he hasn't always been in). Stiverne was an extremely soft and fortunate champion. Arreola almost knocked him out before he landed a hail mary right hand to change the fight in the rematch. Haymon has guided Wilder to a truly easy path. Kept him away from all the punchers. Stiverne is 6.2 at best and did nothing in there fight. Arreola is also only 6.2. Arreola was beaten soooooo easy by V Klitscho yet was very close with Stiverne. Wilder has improved under Breland is tall and has a strong right hand. If they want to really build him they should develop him for another year before throwing him in with the big boys. Dereck Chisora has fought an impressive group of fighters and has been competitive with really all of them. I could argue that Fury handled him the easiest. Haye is the only one to really hurt him but he was also hit a lot by Dereck. Stiverne had fought really no one close to Chisora. Wilder has one of the softest lineups of fighters in recent memories to get to a title shot. Just sayin'

And Fury's team has also done a fabulous job avoiding punchers along his unimpressive path to a top ranking. In fact, they've done much better than Wilders team since Stiverne, while somewhat limited, is a very hard puncher; at least compared to guys like Cunningham, Chisora and Pajkic.

Let's be honest here. Neither Wilder, Fury or any other current HW not named Klitschko or Povetkin has faced fearsome competition. These guys are managed so carefully that wins over guys like Chisora, Scott and the ancient Tiger are somehow considered accomplishments.

We're just going to have wait to see Wilder v Fury, although I suspect Fury's team is in no hurry to have him step in the ring with Wilder.

He was twice lined up to fight David Haye.

As to poor competition, there isn't exactly a deep pool in heavyweight boxing at the moment.

Wilder has the best name- Stiverne- on his resume. Gotta favor Deontay even while Tyson looked good against DelBoy.

And? The fight didn't happen, so it isn't on his resume.

True, but when your best win is against Chisora it's hard to find fault with Wilders resume. I haven't seen Fury lining up to fight Chagaev, Povetkin, Pulev, Arreola, etc. In fact, even the ancient Tony the Tiger is missing despite it being a perfect matchup for Fury after The Tiger destroyed one of the other British towers of mediocrity.

I have no problem with Fury, who is fun to watch. What is annoying is the constant mention of Wilders soft resume, which is now probably as good as any HW in the division besides Wlad and Povetkin. It's not like any of these guys are risk takers. That's the problem with the HW division.

Fury will face a puncher when it's financially savvy for him to do so. Hence the Haye fight being made. He was going to earn a lot of money. Makes sense I guess!

This is actually a pretty even fight. Fury (and I'd never thought I'd say this) is the more polished boxer, but Wilder the more fluid athlete and harder puncher. Both have suspect chins.

well phrased indeed.
I would say his heart and balls should be in there as well, because he might need when he gets his crack against Wladimir K. Because if a former Cruiserweight in Steve Cunningham could put Tyson Fury over, lord above only knows what Wladimir Klitschko will do to Fury when he catches him clean.

Fury's backed out of several potential fights including a rematch with Neven Pajkic. His best win was a repeat over Chisora. Chisora? He fought some big names, but oh yeah, he lost to all of them. His biggest win was an extremely questionable TKO over Malik Scott. The guy's a journeyman at best. Fury has not shown much of anything in the last three years.

I have my doubts about Wilder but I still think he's got more tools than Fury. If I were his manager I would definitely avoid going to England to fight Fury. I don't trust English officials, especially referees who seem quick to award a fight to the local boy whenever an opportunity presents itself. Guaranteed that if Fury managed to knock Wilder down the ref would stop the fight in Fury's favour.

He pulled out of the Ustinov fight because his missus had a miscarriage and his Uncle and former trainer was in intensive care, that's the only fight I know of that he's pulled out of. Chisora beat Helenius in the eyes of everyone but a couple of blind judges and he knocked Scott out, fornicate all questionable about that one.

Fury has only one cancelled fight that was by his choice. You are correct.
The same people who bash Fury for pulling out defend Haye for 11 (yes 11) cancelled or rescheduled fights.

The Ustinov thing was weird. The fact he was moaning about Ustinov being in shape and ready to fight could be telling. Remember, he dropped the Brtish title like a hot potato whenRice was made mandatory, which was a shame. I say he did, I think his management team convinced him to.

Haye has been a letdown at times of course but he won world titles away from home and shared a ring with Wlad. He has plenty in credit.

Good fight, I think it's one of the best fights out there for the HW division. Both guys can punch, both have decent skills for heavyweights (although both have shown to be vulnerable at times) and IMO are the only guys in the HW division that have much of a chance of touching Wlad. The hype leading up to the fight would be entertaining, the fight would be fun to watch and it would answer questions about both guys. I would be pulling for Wilder (although don't really like or dislike either guy), but I see it as a 50/50 fight. When you get 2 big guys in the ring that can punch and at this level, anything can happen and one punch can chance everything. MAKE THE FIGHT HAPPEN!
