Brian Rose vs Carson Jones

Post by handsofstone »

This fights on the Prizefighter MW card on Saturday, interesting fight......kinda

Rose has pretty much said he'll retire if he cant beat Jones as he'll refuse to go back to domestic level,I'm not sold on Brian as a world class fighter but I suspect Carson has had one too many hard fights to win another "big" one and can't see him getting passed Rose's long jab,I hope Jones comes in shape instead of being blown up at LMW

I think Rose wins this but agree he's not world class. Good domestic fighter, think he'd get done at European level too if I'm honest.

I fancy Rose to win this comfortably and could see a stoppage, how early depends on the shape that Jones turns up in.

I think this is Jones coming and getting his last decent payday.

He blatently swerved the best 2 fighters in the country smith and rudekenko (hattons guy) both imo would beat him comfortably. Hes fringe euro/euro level at absolute best

We're in trouble when Adam reads this. He called me nasty names for saying Andrade would beat him!

This is a terrible match up imo, would be amazed if the fight was anything other than awful.

Rabchenko and Smith would comfortably stop The Lion.

You think he would beat smith??
Alright wanker didn't realize the spelling police were out. He skipped the euro route to dodge Rachenko, he's only faced 1 fighter that's euro level or above yet he has 2 ko loses on his record. Hes been matched very carefully and when he stepped up he looked like a fish out of water. If he fights either of the above it would answer a lot of questions however we both know he won't.
Also beating carson jones means exactly nothing

Mate I'm not one to give pelters on here. We are all entitled to our opinion. If you think Liam Smith stops Brian comfortably you are on another planet.

It would be a good scrap and obviously me being biased would edge Brian on a close points.

Anyone who choses otherwise wither doesn't know the sport or is extremely biased.

Liam was offered this fight on the MEN show before Crolla pulled out due to his incident. Joe said he needed a full 12 week camp and not 6 week notice, same as what Brian had at the time.

So they offered him a fight they knew he couldn't take, at short notice?

Brian Rose won the British Title outright so didn't avoid Liam Smith.

Everyones entitled to their opinion but who has he beat to determine he is better than Brian ?

In his last two fights he beat an eastern European who Selkirk stopped in 3.

and then Jason Welborn who light punching Frankie Gavin stopped at the weight below.

If Brian Rose who fought Maciel turns up he wins that fight for me.

Rabchenko is different though I think he will have learnt a lot from the Mundine defeat.

Rose will have known he was on that show well before the offer was made to Smith, who had probably already been told he was fighting in March on the Echo undercard. That doesn't change that Liam couldn't have accepted the offer anyway, typical promoter tactics, make an offer to a fighter, knowing they can't accept, to then be able to bring it up later on as evidence one fighter is ducking the other.

You have a point to be fair. This is what I know anyway and if Liam wanted the as much as he bangs on about he would've took it in a heartbeat.

He knows himself he would need to improve slightly and be at his very best if he has a chance of beating Brian. The best Brian Rose beats the best Liam Smith at the moment imo. 12/18 months who knows.

If the money was good and he had time for a full camp, I'm sure he would have been up for it, I can't see allegedly letting him go off and fight on a Matchroom show though.

I was trying to wind Adam up. I'd still tip Smith, though.

I really don't rate Rose at all and I think this is the end of him going anywhere other than domestic level.

Jones looks in great shape for this, I think he will take Rose out and at 6/1 for Jones to get the KO...I will be having some of that! :OhYes:

Rose by wide UD or late stoppage.

Got a feeling Jones may quit on his stool so might stuck a few quid on the last 3 rounds stoppage.

Liam Williams comfortably stops Brian Rose too. I am hoping Carson Jones puts on a top performance tonight.

A real pointless fight. The single crumb of interest in regards to this fight is whether Jones can knock Rose out.
