Nacho Beristain: Pacquiao will beat up Floyd

Post by montrealsuper »

Nacho knows. Too much pressure, too many punches, Pac is too tough, too strong. Floyd is used to winning easy fights.

I respect Nacho to the utmost but he is obviously thinking about 2008 Pacquiao with unlimited stamina and supernatural power. That Pacman no longer exists. Tim Bradley was whuppin Pac in the rematch for the 1st 6 rounds until Arum reminded him that he was supposed to lose."Timmy you'll gain more by losing to Manny. Trust me!!"

I've watched that 2nd fight 3 times, i dont recall a whooping. perhaps you should rewatch it again.

The rounds were fairly even through 8.

Try watching it with the sound muted and your bias turned off.

Bradley had only like one round he clearly won which was the 5th when he caught Pac with a right.

But you are the one who characterizes the first 6 rounds as a whooping.

Sounds like YOU need to turn the bias off.

Pacquiao will definitely not beat up Floyd. If he somehow gets lucky and wins it will be a miracle for him. Floyd is going to pick Manny apart. Pac fans after the fight will say "why didn't Manny throw more, why didn't he attack more, why didn't he ...." The reason is Floyd is a terrific counter-puncher and has a great defense. Boxers get frustrated that they can't land clean shots on him and get picked apart by his counters. Floyd has exceptionally long arms for his height and uses that reach along with his quick hands to hit guys when they don't expect it. Manny may flail away at him a few times but will get popped with hard counters each time he does. Manny will soon do what most others have done before him and that is decide it is not worth the effort.

Pac can beat the hell out of Floyd. Eight to ten punch combos at high speed and power from angles and directions Floyd has never seen before could very well overwhelm his senses. Floyd hates pressure.

There's a reason Floyd has put up so many roadblocks for six years. He loves watching Pac's style .... but he doesn't want to deal with it. If he did he would have made the fight in 2009.

Wow you really weren't being facetious in the other thread. You actually believe Manny can overwhelm Floyd. Amazing. Manny leaves himself wide open to counters. Just ask Juan Manuel Marquez.

Five years ago I was into this fight because they were both at the top of their game, and I genuinely wasn't sure who'd win. Now I'm interested because I'm not sure who has slipped more. I have always fancied Mayweather slightly more because of his style, but he will let Pac fight and if the fight is still there in Pac he has a chance, but I'm not sure it is. He hasn't been the same Pacquiao who beat the likes of Hatton/Cotto for a while now, but the way Maidana was allowed to fight against Floyd still makes me think it could be an interesting fight.
