Just a reminder that IJL is also responsible for the horrific beating Shannon Briggs took ( as Gomez has reminded us with the picture) at the hands of Vitali Klitschko. He should have stopped that bout well before the bell to end the twelfth round.

It's a shame but he seems like a thoroughly nice chap and was decent fighter himself. Maybe he would benefit from some additional training and a review from the Board on his performances where he might have made an error.

The focus and attention should now shift to the Board of No Control.

IJL did what he thought was right at the time.

For all the shots he took in that fight the only time that Briggs didn't check himself in quick order and come forward again after a big shot was right at the end of the seventh. Then he reacted very much like Rose did on Saturday and IJL jumped in at exactly the moment the bell rang. My opinion is he jumped in to stop the fight but the bell going immediately changed his mind but only IJL knows that for sure.

I think IJL gets confused as to whether there's a standing 8 count allowed; he jumps in and realises he can't give a standing 8 and it leaves him with no option but to stop the bout.

Rose legs had gone dont blame the ref for rose glass chin and weak legs. He might of stepped in early in the past but this was a good call from the ref plain and simple

Ian John Lewis should be demoted to B class, a bit like when Premiership football referees have to drop down to ref football league games. The stoppage of Rose was very poor, but not as flawed as his judgement in giving Jack Arnfield all three rounds against the other lad.
