It looked to me like the ref wanted to give a standing 8 and then realised it weren't in the rules, he'd intervened and broken the action so in fairness he couldn't have let Rose continue, if Brian had come through the round and beaten Carson it would have been with the referee's help - it wouldn't have been fair. As soon as he intervened he had to stop it.

Nothing wrong with it, his legs had gone badly, his hands had dropped down and he was not defending himself. A shame, given both how early in the fight it was and how late in the round, but it was stopped in accordance with pretty much universally accepted guidelines.

Brian is demanding a rematch but I don't think he warrants one, would rose give Jones a rematch if it was the other way round I don't think so. Why should Jones give him one and give him a chance again, rose isn't world class like he says he is and whoevers feeding his head with this info needs there head wobbling, Brian should drop down a couple of levels or retire he's one of the most boring and basic fighters I've watched.

I think he deserves a rematch because the stoppage was daft, but looking at it from another angle, you could say Jones would probably have got him out of there anyway. He should have just been given the chance to prove that.

Jones has a decent record and he can clearly bang a bit as he hurt Kell Brook pretty badly, he also has 27 KOs in 37 wins. Maybe we just need to give him more credit I suppose. I agree there's not much exciting about Rose, he's a well-schooled Euro-style fairly upright fighter, does everything quite well but no one standout attribute to raise him up to world level.

Yep, pretty much what I said. Not the first time IJL has done this.

The controversy has overshadowed a very good performance and result for Carson and he should be applauded, he is a very good fighter - with a bit of luck he should get somewhere, get some good paydays and prosper, he's done it the hard way; he reminds me a little of Buck Smith.

I don't know if Jones finds it difficult to get the right fights - this was only his second fight since he lost to Kell Brook.

Whether Rose deserves it or not, I reckon Jones would jump at the chance of a rematch.
