Dorticos vs Gassiev on March 6th

Post by Dennis »

Two undefeated cruiserweights who are both top 40 world ranked boxers. What are fans thoughts on this bout? I haven't watched enough of Gassiev yet to have a prediction. Dorticos is good and dangerous early but I wasn't that impressed by his performance against Edison Miranda even though he won every round.

I think Dorticos hits harder but he gets sloppy at times. Gassiev keeps a much tighter guard but doesn't slip many punches. If he just puts up the high guard and lets Dorticos pound on him that could be a bad situation. I wish this fight was on TV as is should be a good one.

Excited for this one.

Gassiev has snappy punches with solid power but he seems a bit static and stiff, and can be lazy at times. Dorticos seems more fluid to me and doesn't shut off for periods as much as Gassiev does, but he has a greater tendency to punch too widely and I also have doubts about his chin (several amateur stoppage losses and down professionally). I still have many questions about each fighter and I think this bout will help address some of them.

Exactly. I forgot to mention Dorticos' chin Q's. This fight should answer a lot of questions.

I don't know if Gassiev has a good chin as I haven't been overly impressed with his competition and he wasn't really tested from the few fights I've seen.

It looks like the show and thus this bout have been postponed.
