I saw him in lydls in Ringwood and wondered whatever happened to him? I thought he was boxing abroad under a foreign licence, but his record shows he hasn't boxed in a while. Has he packed it in?
As a local lad I used to watch him at Golden Ring and his hands were like lightening. Funny, cos I wouldn't have noticed him, but he was larking about play fighting with a little girl and I couldn't help notice his good form. Thought to myself "Christ he knows what he's doing" then it dawned on me who it was.
What happened to Iain weaver?
Re: What happened to Iain weaver?
A real shame that he couldnt get licensed by the BBBofC, which really held him back from making the progress he wanted to in the professional ranks.
A really skilled fighter that could have gone far.

Agreed. I spent a few years in southampton studying, Iain looked really good in the gym, and with the exception of Alex dil, I haven't seen a talent from the Hampshire area as good. Tony hill and king were also solid.MrJasonM wrote:A real shame that he couldnt get licensed by the BBBofC, which really held him back from making the progress he wanted to in the professional ranks.

Hope Iain starts fighting again

Alex Dilmaghani is a good fighter, re-located to mexico and has sparred a lot over there. JMM etc. I bet he's improved a lot over last few years, training with calibre of gym mate. Hopefully he starts his own career back up.

I heard about that, he's with nacho now or something. I always wondered why he never was given a big deal over here, I know Iain can't get a license medically, but Alex seems the full package, I always thought he was like 28 or something, he's only still 23, bags of time. I hope both make it to the top, they both have that level of talentG0mez wrote:Alex Dilmaghani is a good fighter, re-located to mexico and has sparred a lot over there. I saw him in costa coffee the Monday morning after the senior fight. The state of the cut confirmed that boxing is no way to make a living.Tastethepain wrote:Tony hill and king were also solid.
