Actually at the weigh in 272 lbs which equals = 19st 6 lbs he clearly wasn't isn't shape and owes it to himself and the paying public to make more of an effort but the again he hasn't fought for nearly 2 years and should be stripped of the English belt.

I can concur, Mcdermott did bash up Povetkin in sparring. I never saw the DW sparring but was around that camp so imagine it did happen and can believe 3 years ago DW was probably schooled.

Were you there when McDermott was sparring Povetkin ? Did you help him get off the canvas when Lebedv put him down ?

Agreed, Dillian Whyte said in an interview that he recently asked McDermott for a fight and John asked for 5 months to get ready.

He seems a decent and fit boxer but don't seem to have that big power imo, I'd say it's hard to judge him as he hasn't really been tested to make any judgement but the heavyweight division seems to move really slowly in terms of progression for some reason?? Maybe it's wlad because since vitali has retired it's opened up and people are contesting against one another

The scales were a stone off and it was said on the day. He was weighed right before the fight and was either 18.5 or 18.7.

Wrong again he weighed in at the same time as David Price yet David came in at his normal fight weight (not a stone heavier) The whole problem with your sparring stories ,condition, weight etc is that they are clearly coming from an unreliable source.

Clearly 'London' is part of the DW camp or DW himself as he only ever posts about him.

Nice one London you just put down anyone that disagrees with you

Good attempt at distracting from the rubbish you talk either back up what you post or don't post it.

I am not part of any camp just a big fan and used to train down Miguels in Brixton where Dillian Whyte trains and he is very approachable and has time for everyone. I have attended many fights over the years and know quite a few boxers casually like Dillian and i really believe he can go all the way.

So don't try and shoot down anyone who has an opinion that differs from yours it puts off people from posting.

I have told you my link to Dillian what's yours to John McDermott?

@London, you can believe it or not. I'm not too bothered. McDermott fought a month after the Price farce and his real weight went on the record.

Bottom line: someone at that Price weigh-in rigged the scales. I don't know how, but it was achieved.

Rather not say who I am or my link to the fighters but I have got enough from above to know how credible you are. Thanks

Price was at his normal weight and McDermott was a stone overweight, but they used the same scales and you can clearly see in the video that no one touches them. It's possible to fix the scales before the weigh in, but there's no real need to do so at heavyweight and I can't see it happening in the 30 seconds between Price and McDermott weighing in. If they were a stone off then every other fighter on the bill would be a stone out too.

Lol another Joker who claims to be on the inside but when asked a simple question starts to flap.

What makes me laugh is that you can post "sparring" tales about John McDermott bashing up Povetkin and DW probably being "schooled" but you weren't there and like believing that there was a conspiracy to add a stone to McDermotts weight for the Price fight you are clearly deluded.

You are also an hypocrite who in an earlier post criticised Chris Jr for talking about sparring James DeGale calling it classless etc

Practice what you preach at least Chris was actually there lol

Please guys take a breath and imagine someone else claimed this! These are Heaveyweights it does not matter how much they weigh.

Why would anyone rig the scales? This was an English title fight in an old theatre in Liverpool not Manny v Floyd at the MGM.

Now I know you're incredibly loyal to McDermott but face facts he came in too heavy and in bad condition and got stopped in 1 round sad but true.

Why would someone in the Price camp risk doing that? There is absolutely no benefit in it for them.

stop trying to bring logical challenges to the claims on this thread - McDermott hadn't been at the pies and came to fight in woeful condition - Price's people clearly temporarily recalibrated the scales for the short period of time that John was on them.

Their reasons for doing this in a heavyweight fight? Clearly to embarrass McDermott into capitulating early over his published weight..

It worked, so there is no reason to question this tactic any further.

I believe Dillain Whyte will be similar to Chisora in achievement and style.

On the other hand, you'd have to be a little mad to think McDermott would come out at almost his heaviest ever weight for arguably his biggest, toughest fight, then be a stone lighter 4 weeks later against a European journeyman.

It's irrelevant, anyway. Anyone looking at McDermott during that weigh-in can see he isn't anywhere near what the scales claimed.
