Big fights that ended in a Technical Decision
Its never nice to see fights end that way but sometimes their a godsend when a fights scrappy and the styles just aren't gelling, last nights European BW title fight between Lee Haskins and Omar Lamiri is a prime example as was Martin Murray's fight with Domenico Spada
Thankfully they aren't too common and I can't remember them happening often in big fights,Ward-Kessler and Bradley-Alexander are the ones I can remember
Any others?

Re: Big fights that ended in a Technical Decision
Pongsaklek vs Naito, Martin Castillo vs Felix Machado, Ruslan Chagaev vs Carl Davis Drummond, Joichiro Tatsuyoshi vs Paulie Ayala, all title fights that ended on a tech. decision ... Pacquiao vs Agapito Sanchez a technical draw.
Only know all this stuff off the top of my head because I researched a piece on head-clash endings for Boxing Monthly not that long ago, with special emphasis on southpaw fighter vs orthodox fighter head-clash endings. All the fights mentioned above were southpaw vs orthodox matches. Cory Spinks vs Rafael Pineda was another.
Hope this helps...

Daorung Chuwatana vs Nana Yaw Konadu
Re: Big fights that ended in a Technical Decision
Surely the king of all world title technical decisions was Sung Kil Moon. He won the WBA bantamweight title on a TD, then later won the WBC super-flyweight title on a TD, and one of his defences was also a TD. See http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_ ... &cat=boxer . From what I recall from Boxing News's reports, he used to cut incredibly easily and any cuts seemed to be ruled to have come from accidental butts, without exception...
Re: Big fights that ended in a Technical Decision
The Ruslan Chagaev-Carl Davis Drumond WBA title fight ended with a TD win for Chagaev.

Just thought of two more: Amir Khan vs Barrera and Khan vs McCloskey (the latter an orthodox style vs southpaw style bout).

Re: Big fights that ended in a Technical Decision
khan vs barrera, ok wasnt a huge fight, but relatively big and would have been much more competitive if not for the cut.
