GGG vs Chavez Jr. 168

Post by Aaronide_ger »

Chavez called out Golovkin Via twitter but he never responded to Golovkin's Manager when he told him to sing the contract.

---> CLICK

So I dont think that this fight will be made this year, But IF they agree to terms now that Chavez is with haymon who do you believe is going to televise the bout? Showtime or HBO?

Because I really dont wanna see golovkin on Showtime

GGG will get an extra million $ on this one - IF Chavez wins his next one, which isn't a lock vs Fonfara.

Aren't they fighting at a catch weight meaning that Fonfara will be weakened ?

I don't care where it happens at. I hope HBO & Al Haymon can work together again. One would think Al & HBO had to have some talks during the setup of the Floyd vs Manny fight so maybe working together on this fight won't be too much of an issue. I also seen someone mention GGG's deal with HBO might be over after the May fight (idk if thats true or not, haven't seen anything yay or naying it) so its possible after May they could make this fight without a HBO vs Al situation & just do it on Showtime, PPV or hell maybe even national TV. I don't care where I just think it'll be fun so lets make it happen!!!

Chavez would take a significant amount of damage in this fight. He has a great chin, but gets hit too easily. It would be scary. But, what an entertaining fight it would be. Chavez would be much bigger come fight night.

Considering that the fight against fonfara is at 172 im curious to know how hard it would be for jcc jr to make 168

GGG looked like a tiny middleweight compared to Murray. Obviously an absolute beast at 160, but would size and less than stellar defence be an issue against big SMWs?

he did look a bit light ... maybe it might be ideal for ggg to fight at a catch weight>?

Chavez Jr "come to my weight class 168 or 170"
First of all 170 isn't a weight class.
Also, he can't really call 168 "my weight class" can he? How many times has he fought at 168?

Don't get me wrong, i'd like to see the fight, I just don't like the idea of a man who's weight is so erratic forcing the disciplined professional to move to a new weight, especially as Chavez may come in over anyway.

I'm not convinced Chavez even makes 168.

In that case I cant see why GGG needs that fight ... he has a few good battles at MW and who knows a unification before he even thinks about moving up...

He wants Cotto but Miguel is too astute to take that fight. Martinez is retired, leaving no middleweights for Golovkin. 168 is deep, he should look at a path of Abraham's world title then Froch or Ward.

in that case he might as well move up fight chavez and then fight the winner of Quillin or Lee (probably Quillin)

I quite like the sound of Golovkin vs Abraham but I can't see it as Abraham can make huge sums of money in far less dangerous fights.

I think either the N'Dam vs Limeaux, or Quillin vs Lee winner would make a Decent opponent and the chance to unify, but if they can't happen he May well have to move up, but there is no guarantee he will carry the same power at 168.

Seem obvious to me he will. I remember an interview with Afolabi, a cruiser, shocked at how hard Golovkin was hitting him in sparring.
