I bet Adam made Jonny sleep on the sofa as punishment for that.

Anything more than £20 and I won't bother or look elsewhere for means to see it, hopefully we get a 'stacked' British card too

On Friday night / Saturday morning on SKY Sports News, at about 1:30am, they went over to Germany live for the thoughts of Johnny Nelson and Adam Smith on the Pacman Mayweather fight finally being confirmed. The news had only broke about 90 mins earlier.

Both men looked tired and Nelson was bumbling through his lines, as per usual. Nelson said something that made me think SKY alreay have it. He said something along the lines of he's very privileged to be doing the job that he's got as it will allow him to be part of one of the biggest fights in recent memory. Adam Smith looked at Johnny with a fixed stare and Johnny quickly changed his tune saying he can't beleive he'll finally get to watch this fight on TV, or "whatever we'll be doing for this on the night".

I think Nelson has let the cat out of the bag.
I can't see Sky tying down a deal for the fight within a few hours of it being announced, judging by the usual attitude of Sky/Hearn, Nelson was probably assuming it will be on Sky because it's the best platform and all that bollocks.

Doesn't actually say that anywhere in the article though. All they've done is converted the US PPV price from USD to Stirling.

I'll be watching it with about five or six mates so we'll be chipping in like when we were kids watching Naz & Lennox Lewis no matter what it costs. I can't see them charging £65 though, PPV's in the US are always expensive, I think they would make more money charging less in the UK, your average fan just wouldn't pay that much.

There was an interview with you know who on Talksport this morning, mentioned that negotiations are underway to show the fight on BN so can't be signed, sealed and delivered yet.

My thoughts are I wonder what PPV price will be charged.

The way they were talking on Talksport this morning this fight is going to be built up as if the Thriller in Manilla was a scrap between 2 piss heads outside a local pub.

Don't be surprised in this "fight of the millennium" or whatever is priced at £50 (yes folks, £50).
I cant believe they would charge £50 for a fight Mayweather is going to win anyway. At £15.99 I might be tempted but not any more than that.

Or ?tv for that matter (Sky 252), they may only have a 4am to 6am time slot, but this is perfect for the Mayweather vs Pacquiao fight!

Looks like they've been planning this for quite some time! :TU:

Bellew vs Cleverly 2 was £16.95, so the fight of the century being only £15.99 I highly doubt.

I get that its a international contest as opposed to a domestic bill, but still, Bellew/Clevery vs Mayweather/Pacquiao! Hmmmmm?

Yep, got my doubts about them trying it on for 50 bar (maybe more hope than belief). Would've paid £50 for it 5 years ago. Now? No.

All this talk about how much money the fight could make. You could've easily doubled, probably trebled that if the fight had happened when it was supposed to.

Lol it's not going to be anywhere near £50 pounds it will be no more then £25 at the very most anything more then people other then hardcores will not touch it..even 25 is really pushing it which is why I think they'll leave it at £20.

Hopefully not Sky, can't be doing with Adam Smith gurning and telling us how it's going to be the fight of the millenium, breaking box office records and how we'll all be able to tell our grandkids where we were when an American and a Filipino had a fight in the summer of 2014.

Fuck off!

It would be interesting to see SKY ignore the fight if it was in BN.

I was reading about the odds somewhere before! And when discussing the bidding wars between Sky and BT Sports it was talking about BT Sports 'underbidding' Sky on a number of occasions!

Does anyone know what this is (obviously its bidding less than the highest bidder), but more the significance of or strategy involved in underbidding??? I jut cant get my head around it!

Presumably it's when Company A bids for something Company B really wants, even though Company A has no real desire to win the bid, as Company B will therefore have to pay significantly more than it would have if it was unchallenged.

Make SKY pay more than what it's worth like with the recent football bids and hopefully make them overstretch themselves financially
